This essay clarifies the meanings of "Culture" and "Mathematics Culture" and summarizes the characteristics of mathematics culture. It is mainly aimed at the mathematics teaching practice in secondary vocational school. Combing with the teaching objectives, teaching object, teaching methods and teaching strategies, an analysis of the theoretical value and practical meaning of penetrating mathematics culture into secondary vocational school’s mathematics teaching was given in this essay.This essay gives a demonstration on how to penetrate mathematics culture into secondary vocational school’s teaching by reasonable selection of course content, scientific design of teaching process and application of effective teaching methods and teaching strategies. It can help the students to experience the mathematics knowledge and cultural connotation, arouse the students’ interest in mathematics learning and improve the students’ mathematics quality.In the process of penetrating mathematics culture into secondary vocational school’s teaching, five principles of selecting course content should be followed, i.e. the relevance principle of mathematics teaching material, the relevance principle of students’major, the interesting principle, the thoughtful principle and the popular principle. Four principles of teaching design should be followed, i.e. fitting for the students’level and the teaching objectives, assisting the course content, and improving the teaching effect. Four teaching strategies should be applied, i.e. course introduction strategies, course reading strategies, self-directed exploration strategies and extracurricular reading strategies. Four methods should be used, i.e. penetrating mathematics culture through the students’ major application, the introduction to the history of mathematics and mathematician, the mathematics games, and the modern information technology. For each method and strategy, there are many specific teaching cases.The principles, methods and strategies of penetrating mathematics culture into mathematics teaching in secondary vocational school which were put forth in this essay were innovative. The teaching cases used in this essay have the function of explanation and introduction. The research in this essay has its theoretical and practical meaning for penetrating mathematics culture into mathematics teaching in secondary vocational school.
