A Survey Of The Predicament Of Postgraduate Entrance Examination For Journalism And Communication

In recent years,the number of domestic postgraduate entrance examinations has grown rapidly.The number of postgraduate applicants has increased from 2.01 million in 2017 to 3.77 million in 2021.In the craze for postgraduate entrance examinations,candidates from non-prestigious schools accounted for the vast majority of the postgraduate entrance examination population.For many students who are not satisfied with their current academic qualifications,passing the postgraduate entrance examination to a prestigious school is another opportunity to strive for quality educational resources and change their destiny.However,as domestic higher education enters the stage of popularization,colleges and universities have gradually differentiated.Students from prestigious schools have become more representatives of high-quality students and are favored by admissions units.The actual graduate admission opportunities faced by students from different colleges and universities may not be the same.This survey will take the postgraduate entrance examination for journalism and communication majors as an example,combined with existing postgraduate enrollment reports and policies Documents and university research and recruitment data,through in-depth interviews to understand the status quo of non-prestigious college students' entrance examinations and the existing dilemmas,analyze the reasons behind academic discrimination and inequality of graduate entrance opportunities,and try to propose corresponding strategies.The main research contents and results are as follows:First,a survey of the status quo of postgraduate entrance examinations for majors in news communication in China.(1)The proportion of exempted students accepted by prestigious schools is relatively high,and some colleges have even reached 88.5%.(2)Journalism and communication majors have a high overall score for the re-examination of postgraduate entrance examinations,and journalism and communication majors are popular for applications.(3)In 2020,some new colleges and universities will carry out postgraduate enrollment reforms and adjust their enrollment plans,which will have an adverse impact on the candidates of ordinary colleges.Second,the current situation and predicament of the new postgraduate entrance examination of Shuangfei students.(1)The main motivation of double non-students for postgraduate entrance examinations is to improve their academic background and increase employment competitiveness.(2)The predicament of prestigious postgraduate entrance examinations mainly includes the following aspects: the proportion of prestigious schools and departments accepting exemption is high,the proportion of unified examinations is compressed,and the emphasis is on candidates The investigation of the undergraduate background may constitute a phenomenon of academic discrimination,resulting in unequal access opportunities for ordinary college students.Third,the analysis of the reasons behind the predicament of the postgraduate entrance examination.(1)Colleges and universities have expanded their enrollment,and the source of graduate candidates is sufficient,and the enrollment unit is more inclined to recruit students from famous universities.(2)Colleges and universities have relatively large independent enrollment rights,and many enrollment selection standards are not open and transparent.(3)The unbalanced development of universities and the imperfect classification and evaluation system have led to uneven distribution of domestic high-quality educational resources.This is the underlying reason why students in different schools face different opportunities for postgraduate entrance examination and employment.Fourth,make relevant suggestions for students from non-prestigious schools to break through their difficulties and expand their own development space.(1)At the policy level,it is necessary to accelerate the reform of the higher education system,promote the classification and evaluation of colleges and universities,and establish an equal education concept.(2)At the university level,it is necessary to consciously abide by the relevant regulations of admissions management,and further refine the external admissions management regulations to ensure fair admissions.(3)Students themselves should enhance their self-development initiative,actively practice and seek employment,and broaden their own outlets.
