With the continuous adjustment and upgrading of urban industrial structure and the arrival of the post industrial era,a large number of industrial buildings left over from the industrial era have been idle and abandoned.Industrial architecture,as an important driving force for urbanization and social progress in the industrial era,has important historical, scientific, artistic, social, and cultural values, and is an indispensable component of human historical and cultural heritage.Since the second half of the 20 th century, the protection of industrial architectural heritage has begun to receive widespread attention worldwide.Compared with ancient architectural heritage, industrial architectural heritage has a huge stock size and potential for renovation and utilization. In the current practice of architectural heritage protection and renewal, due to the lack of guidance and norms in green energy conservation in existing architectural heritage protection regulations, there are green performance issues such as high energy consumption and poor indoor comfort in individual buildings after renovation. This article proposes that the protection and renewal of industrial building heritage requires a comprehensive consideration of the synergy and optimization of heritage value protection and environmental green performance.Based on the urgent need for green renovation of existing buildings, this article proposes to use Analytic Hierarchy Process and multi-objective optimization methods to construct a process and method for the protection and renewal of industrial building heritage, within the framework of the premise of industrial building heritage protection,in order to achieve the dual goals of building heritage protection and green performance optimization. This article reviews the relevant concepts and theoretical knowledge of green performance-oriented industrial building heritage renovation design in cold regions both domestically and internationally. In response to the problems in the protection and renewal of industrial building heritage,it proposes a protection and renewal decision based on Analytic Hierarchy Process and a multi-objective optimization design method based on performance optimization tools.Firstly, based on the comprehensive value evaluation of industrial architectural heritage, this article uses Analytic Hierarchy Process to determine the protection level, standards, renovation nodes, and specific protection strategies.Secondly, this article analyzes the climate characteristics of cold regions and proposes climate adaptation transformation strategies from three aspects: site environment, spatial units, and construction strategies.Based on the climate environment characteristics and the building’s own environmental needs, green performance goals for industrial building heritage are set,and a multi-objective optimization transformation process and platform for industrial building heritage are constructed. Finally, taking the modern industrial building heritage in Jinan as an empirical research case, the protection level, standards, and specific renovation strategies of the building were determined based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process.Multi objective optimization of energy consumption, carbon emissions, thermal comfort, and light environment performance was carried out using tools such as Ladybug tools and Wallacei, and a renovation plan was obtained that meets the goals of heritage protection and green performance. This study can provide a systematic theoretical basis and practical reference for the research on the renovation and reuse of industrial architectural heritage. This article proposes a green performance-oriented design process for industrial building heritage renovation in cold regions, constructs a value evaluation, strategic adaptability evaluation system, and multi-objective optimization platform for industrial building heritage, forming a comprehensive renovation model of value evaluation, scheme decision-making,and design optimization. It provides decision-makers with quantitative basis and clear optimization objectives for renovation design methods. In addition, the renovation design system proposed in this article is open and forward-looking,and new materials, methods, and tools that may emerge in the future can also effectively participate in this renovation system.
