As the world’s most important factory,China’s packaging industry has developed rapidly in the past decade,and its packaging scale is expected to surpass that of the United States.Plastic packaging,which is lightweight,oil-resistant,and corrosion-resistant,has become increasingly important in the packaging industry,with industrial output accounting for over 30%.This has brought tremendous development opportunities to the plastic packaging industry.Plastic hollow articles,which are thin-walled and have large volumes,are widely used in the packaging of beverages,food,cosmetics,and pharmaceutical industries.As an important component of packaging barrels,bottle caps are manually installed and processed for sealing gaskets and ventilation valves.Therefore,this study designed and developed a PLC-based breathable waterproof bottle cap processing system to improve processing efficiency and free up manual labor.This paper specifically studies and designs the following work.Firstly,through the analysis of bottle caps and "O"-ring seals,according to the characteristics of the deformation of the seal ring under stress,a "fixed internally and pushed externally" ring presser for installing the "O"-ring seal in the concave groove of the lid was designed using Solidworks.Then,according to the drilling requirements of the ventilation holes and the actual installation of the ventilation valves,the drilling method of "drilling on the cover surface" and the valve installation method of "cylinder punching" were selected respectively.Next,a two-dimensional mechanical arm was used for the transfer of bottle caps.Following the concept of small size,easy installation,and safe operation,the overall structure of the system was designed.Secondly,the hardware of the equipment was selected,and relevant circuit designs were completed.A complete sensor system,pneumatic and electric system,and a control system platform based on "PLC+HMI" were constructed.The industrial control execution layer is centered on the programmable logic controller(PLC),and is equipped with sensing networks,drive modules,etc.,to complete the acquisition of device information and the execution of designated actions.The operation testing and monitoring layer is centered on the touch screen,combined with an alarm,to form a human-machine interaction system(HMI).It communicates with the PLC through Ethernet to meet customer requirements for equipment operation monitoring and operation.Finally,the STEP-7 Micro/WIN SMART software was used to develop the PLC control program of the bottle cap processing system,and the MCGS embedded version configuration software was used to design the touch screen monitoring screen to meet realtime human-machine interaction functions.The actual debugging and operation showed that the breathable waterproof bottle cap processing system is stable,reliable,easy to operate and maintain,meets the production needs of the enterprise,and improves the intelligent production management level of small and medium-sized enterprises,with good application value.
