Research On Improvement Of New Product Development Process Of RL Company Based On PLM System

RL Company is a well-known domestic enterprise engaged in the production and manufacture of auto parts.In recent years,with the rapid development of new energy vehicles,auto parts have changed from one part with one function to one integrated part with multiple functions.In order to meet the needs of industry development,RL company decided to use APQP(Advanced Product Quality Planning,advanced product quality planning)as the new product development process framework,relying on the PLM system(Product Lifecycle Management,product life cycle management)to manage products.Taking the opportunity of RL Company’s application of PLM system,the paper first systematically sorts out and analyzes the existing research-related domestic and foreign literature(APQP,PLM)through the literature analysis method,and then uses the survey research method combined with the interview method to clarify the application of PLM in RL Company.The new product development process and existing problems before the system,the new product development process steps based on the PLM system,the benefits brought by the PLM system and the current problems,and use descriptive statistics to analyze the changes in key indicators of new product development before and after the application of the PLM system presented.The final paper concludes that the application of the PLM system speeds up the time to market of products externally and enhances the competitiveness of enterprises;internally,it not only optimizes the new product development process in an all-round way,but also makes project management controllable,quality management graspable,and human management positioning clear,and improve department management capabilities and enable better preservation of documents and materials.At same time the paper has certain reference significance for enterprises with chaotic new product development process,uncontrollable development progress,poor inter-department linkage and enterprises preparing to apply or improve PLM system.
