Since the Sui and Tang Dynasties,Xi ’an has been an international economic and cultural center city.The development of commerce has experienced ups and downs for thousands of years since the Western Zhou Dynasty.Now Xi ’an will once again aim at being an international consumption center city,showing its ancient capital style with commerce.With the development of economy,commercial buildings in Xi ’an have gone through a long process from tradition to modernity,from the initial shops to shopping centers and commercial blocks.Nowadays,with the oppression of e-commerce on the real economy and the new requirements of current consumer culture,the development prospect of large commercial buildings in Xi ’an is not optimistic.How to find the future development direction,perhaps we need to learn from history.Therefore,by combing and analyzing the change process of consumer culture and the development trend of large commercial buildings in Xi ’an after entering the consumer society,this paper attempts to grasp the interaction between the change of consumer culture and the evolution of large commercial buildings in Xi ’an,and explore the future development direction of large commercial buildings in Xi ’an under the influence of consumer culture.Firstly,Chapter one and chapter two analyze and study consumer culture,theories and social background of large commercial buildings,and general situation of commercial development in Xi ’an.According to the changes of social environment and residents’ lifestyle,the overall time span of this study is put forward,and then the overall time is divided into four stages according to the key time nodes of major events and economic and social development,as the preliminary preparation for the following research and analysis.Through the general overview of commercial and commercial buildings in Xi ’an,it is clear that the historical origin of large commercial buildings in Xi ’an and the main development situation of each stage.Secondly,Chapter three analyzes the changes of consumer culture at each stage and the specific characteristics of large commercial buildings in Xi ’an.Firstly,the analysis elements of consumer culture are divided into social environment and lifestyle,while the analysis elements of architecture are divided into four aspects: project positioning,spatial organization,public space design and commercial image building.After that,the characteristics of consumption culture and large commercial buildings in the four stages are investigated and analyzed in detail.Thirdly,Chapter four summarizes 13 development trends of various design points by comparing the evolution characteristics of large commercial buildings in Xi ’an in the above stages.By analyzing the influence of consumer culture on these trends,three influential factors of consumer culture,namely consumption values,consumption patterns and consumption environment,are obtained,and the interaction mechanism between them and large commercial buildings in Xi ’an is sorted out,which provides the basis for the future outlook below.Finally,the fifth chapter puts forward the future design prospect of large commercial buildings in Xi ’an.Based on the above analysis results,four design principles are proposed: comfort principle,openness principle,diversification principle and aestheticization principle.Based on these principles,the future development direction of large commercial buildings in Xi ’an is proposed.
