A Study On The Abandoned Farmland Behavior Of Farmers In County A Of Shanxi Province

The history of economic development at home and abroad has repeatedly confirmed that the process of modernization is accompanied by the transfer of a large number of agricultural labor force.Since reforming and opening,the quantity and speed of non-agricultural transfer of agricultural labor force are unprecedented in our country.A large number of agricultural labor force "leaving",coupled with the stagnation of the transfer of cultivated land management right caused by the dispute of rural farmland contract,make the vast rural farmland abandoned phenomenon.For land use,on the one hand,urbanization is accelerating the occupation of rural arable land,on the other hand,the rural abandonment problem has sprung up one after another across the country.This study is based on the abandoned farmland problem.After comprehensively applying the relevant theories,knowledge and methods of sociology,it conducts an in-depth investigation and research on the abandoned farmland behavior of farmers in A county of Shanxi Province.In recent years,the rural labor force in A county continues to transfer to the secondary and tertiary industries,so as to further analyze relevant problems and draw corresponding conclusions,so as to effectively avoid the harm caused by the abandonment of farmland to find a better solution.From the micro perspective of peasant households,based on the survey data of peasant households in 5 towns and 2 townships of A county,and on the basis of the theory of peasant households’ behavior,this paper sets up an analytical framework for peasant households’ decision on farmland abandonment behavior,and uses the Logit model to conduct theoretical and empirical analysis on the formation of peasant households’ farmland abandonment behavior.The specific research contents are as follows:Firstly,the concept,causes,effects and countermeasures of farmland abandonment at home and abroad are theoretically discussed.Secondly,on the basis of studying a large number of theories,this research takes into account the family aspects,income aspects and other aspects of farmers’ cultivation of cultivated land to design questionnaires and issue the recycling questionnaires.The basic data of the surveyed farmers were processed,and the Logit model was used to analyze the data.It is concluded that seven factors,such as distance between cultivated land and home,annual agricultural income,irrigation conditions,changes in grain yield,comparison between cost and income,land protection awareness and cultivated land quality,significantly affect the abandonment behavior.Finally,it is concluded that the path selection of controlling farmland abandonment behavior of farmers in A county is as follows:(1)Explore diversified land transfer mode to improve farmland utilization efficiency;(2)reduce cultivated land planting cost and improve farmers’ income on cultivated land;(3)Improve the construction of agricultural infrastructure and improve the cultivation conditions of cultivated land;(4)Strengthen the publicity of cultivated land protection and raise farmers’ awareness of cultivated land protection.
