Prosperity leads to national development,a strong culture leads to a strong nation, and the protection and inheritance of cultural heritage has always been highly valued by experts and scholars. The protection and transmission of cultural heritage have always been valued by experts and scholars.Traditional dance has become an important category of intangible cultural heritage because it carries the long-term production and living conditions of the ancestors, and gradually internalizes and coalesces the national spirit. However, because of the typical living nature of intangible heritage and its own dynamic characteristics, traditional dances are difficult to inherit and protect under the influence of multiple factors such as modern fast-developing science and technology, rapidly changing living environment and constantly impacting foreign cultures. In recent years, with the transformation of exam-oriented education to quality education, the focus of dance,as an important part of it,has gradually changed from focusing on the improvement of students’ professional skills to focusing on their overall development, and popular dance education has been emphasized. In the context of rapidly rising ethnic cultural awareness, more and more primary and secondary schools are introducing ethnic cultural elements into their teaching contents, improving the popular dance education system and providing new directions for the study of the preservation and transmission of non-heritage dances. This paper takes the mutual development of non-heritage dance and popular dance education as the research object, and combines macro-theoretical analysis and micro-practical exploration as the overall research method.First, the author reads the literature to understand the current situation of theoretical research and practical implementation in the two fields of non-heritage dance and popular dance education respectively, and summarizes the relevant issues.Further,I explore the value of integrating the heritage of dance with popular dance education and make a feasibility analysis.Secondly, the "Dragon Dance Course" developed by Hai’an Middle School in Jiangsu Province and Tongliang No.2 Middle School in Chongqing City is taken as a concrete case of integrating NFA dance with popular dance education, and the implementation of the course is analyzed in terms of schools, teachers, students, and teaching materials, and the problems to be solved in the course are summarized through questionnaire analysis and expert interviews. The research aims to find out the problems that need to be solved in the curriculum through questionnaire analysis and expert interviews, and to explore the specific strategies that can promote the joint development of non-heritage dance heritage and popular dance education. The research of this project aims to extend from the point to the surface, hoping to provide some reference for the integration of non-heritage dance and popular dance, and to make a small contribution to the promotion of the heritage of ethnic culture and popular dance education.
