| This report is based on the translation of the 7thchapter of 2021 World Oil Outlook 2045,which discusses the Energy policy,climate change and sustainable development.It covers the latest information on new energy policies and sustainable development in many crude oil-related countries,and the global deployment and planning of important energy sources with the influence of COVID-19.The translation of the selected chapter is designed to provide a timely understanding of the global trends of energy planning to China,so that the relevant domestic industries can make corresponding adjustments.The source text is a multi-disciplinary scientific and technological text,involving many disciplines,professional terms,and long sentences with complex logic.With the guidance of Steiner’s Hermeneutic translation theory,the application of translation strategy and skills are explored according to the language characteristics of the informative text of energy and environment in the petroleum science and technology.It is found that with hermeneutic translation theory,especially through the aggression and incorporation into the source text language,plus the corresponding compensation,the problems at the levels of lexis and syntax,even the problems caused by cultural differences can be easily solved,and a reasonable and readable translation version to the source text can be obtained.This report further explores the practical application of Hermeneutic translation theory in scientific and technological text translation,hoping to enrich the translation practice of petroleum science and technological text and further promote the international communication of the development and research of Chinese petroleum science and technology. |
