| The popularization of virtual reality(VR)technology heralds a new media revolution in human history. The integration of VR and film means that the dimensions of narrative expression are once again expanding.Stereophony and 3D movies can no longer satisfy people’s needs. The content of VR films will include, but is not limited to,panoramic images, spatial audio, and multi-channel human-computer interaction.Panoramic images and audios provide the most complete conditions of interactive narration for VR films.VR will lead narration into an unprecedented era of embodied experience.Currently, research on the interaction of VR films has not yet been systematically developed.More analysis of the interaction characteristics of VR films is based on their macroscopic features, while lacking attention to the basic embodied experience of viewers and actual interaction design methods. The existing interaction design of VR films is similar to that of games, which easily interrupts the narrative and has a high learning cost, which is not conducive to the dissemination and development of VR interactive films. Therefore, this paper is supported by the theory of embodied cognition and implicit interaction theory, based on user experience and film-watching psychology,to study the theory and application of virtual-simulated interaction in virtual reality films.Firstly, this paper analyzes the existing VR interactive technologies and studies the VR films made by different technical means, focusing on the image features and dilemmas of interaction design of VR films produced by camera, and investigates the current interaction of VR films, forming a basic understanding of the current VR film interaction technology and theory. The theory of embodied cognition derived from phenomenology provides a new perspective for researchers to explore the principles of human cognition. The theory holds that the senses and activities of the body influence human cognition and emotions, which is still applicable in virtual reality space.Based on the latest researches from psychology and industrial design, the feeling of self-existence experienced in virtual reality is called embodiment, which is subdivided into three dimensions:sense of self-location,sense of agency, and sense of body ownership.Different designs in virtual reality will affect the degree of people’s sense of embodiment. The design goals of implicit interaction theory, such as releasing user attention resources and reducing user psychological processing during interaction, will help improve interaction immersion. These theories coincide with this paper’s pursuit of interactive experience and immersion in VR films. This paper also analyzes the prerequisites of interaction design of VR films from the perspectives of creators and viewers, and proposes a new virtual-simulated interaction design strategy according to the interactive needs of embodiment and transparency.Virtual-simulated interaction provides viewers of VR films with embodied support and interactive content by introducing embodied interaction "agents" and designing natural interaction guidance to awaken viewers accustomed to bystander status. This paper proposes four design principles for VR film interaction design and builds a virtual-simulated interaction system framework. The virtual-simulated interaction design strategy proposed in this paper will help VR films produced by camera to overcome interaction design dilemmas, reflect on the active identity of viewers in VR movies, guide future VR interactive movies to complete interaction design more precisely, and enhance their interaction fluency, realism, and narrative immersion. |
