Carbon dioxide(CO2)produced by human activities is the main contributor to global warming. Many countries have committed to net-zero emissions.China,as a responsible country, has pledged to peak its CO2emissions before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060.How to achieve these goals has been a topic of concern. This is a report on the C-E translation. The translator selects chapter 2 of The Age of Carbon Neutrality:A Big Shift in Wealth for the Next 40 Years as the translation material, which mainly presents China’s contributions to climate change, and the opportunities and challenges that China faces in its process towards carbon neutrality. From the perspective of“three-dimensional transformations”of Eco-translatology,this report analyzes the transformations made by the translator to the translation in linguistic, cultural, and communicative dimensions. In the linguistic dimension, the selection of words and the translation of compound sentences and parallel structures are key points. In terms of cultural dimension, the translation of metaphors and culture-loaded words are crucial aspects. The communicative dimension centers on the adaptive selection of the tone and the rearrangement of information-dense content.Meanwhile, the translation techniques adopted by the translator to make transformations include addition, division, modulation, restructuring the sentence, etc.By doing this translation, the translator realizes that she should pay attention to the differences between Chinese and English, and make transformations from linguistic, cultural, and communicative dimensions to accurately convey the information and retain the features of the source text, and ensure the readability of the translation.
