The author chooses The Feast of Insects,a CCTV nature documentary as the source film of this interpretation practice, which is mainly shot in Jianfengling Nature Reserve,Hainan Island and Gaowangjie Nature Reserve. In the film, the story of how insects obtain food shows the positive role this species plays in the ecosystem and its important impact on the ecological environment and human life.Taking this documentary as the source film and based on her own practice of simulated consecutive interpretation, the author mainly analyzes some typical problems and corresponding solutions including redundancy, ambiguity and some four-character idioms. For the first problem, the interpreter thinks it can be solved by appropriate omission;for the second and third problems, paraphrase can be used to solve them, making underlying information explicit and avoiding the occurrence of unclear reference.Besides, due to the differences in thinking mode and sentence structure between Chinese and English, she also needs to adjust the word order for some irregularities, making the output conform to the expression habits of the target language. In the process, the interpreter tries to apply the interpreting theories and methods to the practice so as to improve the interpretation ability and comprehensive quality, and lay a solid foundation for future interpreting of the similar subject type. What’s more, the author hopes that the practice stimulates the awareness of public’s environmental protection, helps people understand that a biological chain is as the saying goes,“a slight move in one part may affect the whole situation”,learn to praise the wisdom of nature with awe and promote harmonious coexistence between them and nature.
