Abstract/Summary:
COVID-19 swept the world and has had a tremendous impact on people’s work and lives.As a result,the education industry has witnessed a huge change with online education becoming popular.The demand for class interpreters in some overseas education services is also increasing.Therefore,the interpreter selected one of her class interpreting tasks whose topic is “Governance and Management of Education in the Philippines” as the English-Chinese consecutive interpreting material to explore the application of the Interpretive Theory in remote class interpreting.Guided by the Interpretive Theory,the interpreter adopted interpreting strategies closely related to its kernel to address the problems encountered in this task.The interpreter failed to remember all the information,find corresponding expressions,and read notes.After filling the task,the interpreter also evaluated the interpreting quality,summarized the difficulties of the task and received comments from the participants.All of those provided experience for the interpreter to improve her interpreting ability in the future.Finally,the interpreter hopes that this report can help the interpreter overcome these difficulties in following interpreting tasks,improve her interpreting ability and offer high-quality services.Meanwhile,the interpreter also hopes that it can provide lessons of class interpreting for other interpreters.
