"Conglai(从来)","Xianglai(向来)","Lilai(历来)","Yuanlai(原来)"and"Benlai(本来)"are the time words with high error rate in the process of Chinese acquisition for foreign students. These words have similar grammatical functions and semantics, and teachers usually pay attention to explaining semantics rather than grammatical functions in teaching, which are the important reasons leading to errors.Although grammatical functions and semantics are similar, they have different processes of lexicalization."Conglai(从来)"developed from the cross-layer structure, while"Xianglai(向来)","Lilai(历来)","Yuanlai(原来)"and"Benlai(本来)"developed from the attached lexicalization of"lai(来)"."Conglai(从来)"is influenced by the semantics of its original structure, while the semantics of"Xianglai(向来)","Lilai(历来)","Yuanlai(原来)"and"Benlai(本来)"are related to the main roots of"xiang(向)","li(历)","yuan(原)"and"ben(本)".This is the fundamental reason for their semantic differences. On the basis of clarifying their origins and semantic differences, this paper analyzes the form, functions and meaning of the five words.Using the theory of error analysis, this paper summarizes the types of errors from the perspectives of grammar, semantics and pragmatics, and then explores the causes of errors from the perspectives of the functional differences, semantic confusion, teaching ideas and teaching materials. After finding out the types and causes of errors,it summarizes the enlightenment of this kind of words in teaching Chinese as a second language. It mainly consists of three parts. The first part discusses the source, functions and meaning of the five words. The second part summarizes the types of errors from the perspectives of grammatical function, semantics and form. The third part explores teaching enlightenment from the perspectives of teachers, teaching materials, language and students’ awareness of acquisition, hoping to contribute to the research of these words and the research on teaching Chinese as a second language. |
