| Against the backdrop of economic globalization and financial integration, there is a higher recognition of the role of financial translation. However, compared with other applied translation studies, the study of financial translation starts late and still lacks exhaustive research. This present study,by taking as a case study English-Chinese translation of Global English and Political Economy(Chapter 2)by John P.O’ Regan, attempts to investigate the translation strategies and methods as applied in the translation of economic texts, embedded within the theoretical framework of eco-translatology.To be specific, the author uses Hu Gengshen’s“three-dimensional transformations” theory to guide the translation practice in terms of language, culture, and communication.Especially the adaption and selection are particularly addressed. It is hoped that this study would offer a new paradigm for the research on financial translation research, and meanwhile solidify the theory of eco-translatology. |
