The Missing Course: Everything They Never Taught You About College Teaching (Chapter 3) English-Chinese Translation Practice Repor

As our education strength keeps growing,higher education also experiences a rapid change and upgrade in its policy.This paper is based on the third chapter of The Missing Course: Everything They Never Taught You by David Gooblar.After reading and analyzing the text in detail,the translator analyzed the translation of pronouns through addition,substitution,and zero translation.While in terms of syntax,the translator focused on the translation of parenthesis through four methods,including embedding,amplification,using brackets,and reorganizing structure.Finally,the translator analyzed how to translate figurative speech from English to Chinese while paying attention to the target language expressions.In the process of translation,the translator read the information of the original text in depth,studied the relevant translation methods and summarized the translation phenomena,thus gaining a deeper understanding of translation learning.
