A Report On Translation Of Chapter Seven Of Children And The European Court Of Human Rights

This translation report is based on the translation of Chapter 7(Sections 7.1 to7.5.2.)in Claire Fenton-Glynn’s monograph Children and the European Court of Human Rights.The book aims to provide a comprehensive yet detailed overview of the jurisprudence of the European Court of Human Rights in relation to children.This report focuses on the categorization of attributive clauses and their translation.The report discusses two main categorizations: restrictive attributive clauses and non-restrictive ones.Based on these two categorizations,the report proposes four translation techniques: inversion,division,fusion,and conversion.Combined with examples,the report demonstrates how these four translation techniques are used in the translation of attributive clauses.The translation techniques of attributive clauses introduced in this translation report can provide constructive thoughts for translation of attributive clauses in legal English.
