Teaching materials serve as not only the fundamental resources for students learning,but also the crucial foundation for teachers to organize their curriculum and conduct instructional sessions.With the development of international Chinese education and the increase in the number of junior Chinese learners,the elementary Chinese spoken textbooks are also emerging,but the quality of existing elementary Chinese spoken textbook is uneven.In order to improve the quality of elementary Chinese spoken textbooks,it is necessary to conduct research on existing textbooks.This paper takes "Short-term Spoken Chinese Threshold vol.1 and vol.2" and "Experiencing Chinese Oral Course 1 and 2" as the research objects,and compares the similarities and differences between the two sets of textbooks from four aspects of arrangement framework,language elements,texts and exercises.This paper finds out the advantages and disadvantages of the two sets of textbooks,and then puts forward the corresponding reasonable suggestions,and tries to provide insights into the complication of elementary Chinese spoken textbooks.This article can be divided into four parts.The first part,which is the introductory section of the thesis,primarily covers the background and importance of the topic,a review of prior research,along with the research subject and methodology employed in the present study.The second part consists of Chapter 2 to Chapter 5.The two sets of textbooks are compared from four aspects: arrangement framework,language elements,texts and exercises.In the aspect of arrangement frame,the second chapter makes a comparison between the whole book frame and the text frame.In the aspect of language elements,the third chapter examines phonetics from the content,vocabulary from quantity and rank,grammar from quantity,content,and order of arrangement.In terms of texts,the Chapter four compares the number of texts,the topic of texts,the communicative role of texts and the communicative places of texts.In terms of exercise,Chapter five examines exercise from the quantity and type.Through comparison,it is found that the two sets of textbooks have differences in each part based on their teaching characteristics,and there are corresponding parts that need to be improved.The third part is chapter 6.The sixth chapter,based on the comparison and analysis of the previous four chapters,tries to put forward some suggestions on the compilation of elementary spoken Chinese textbooks in four aspects: arrangement framework,language elements,texts and exercises,hoping to provide some ideas for the compilation of elementary spoken Chinese textbooks.The fourth part of the thesis presents the conclusion,which outlines the key finding of the study and also discusses its limitation.
