The integrated development of cultural industry and tourism industry not only complies with the current law of industrial development in China, but also helps to build a socialist cultural and tourism power. The integration helps to upgrade the industrial structure and realize high-quality economic development. With the reorganization of the national cultural and tourism departments in 2018,the topic of cultural and tourism integration has quickly become a hot topic and a practical problem. At present, the research focuses on the evaluation, influencing factors, paths and modes of the integrated development of these two industries. But the discussion on the spatial difference of the integrated development level and its influencing factors is not deep enough. In order to enrich the existing research system, this paper selects 31 provinces of China as the research objects.Based on the mechanism analysis of the integration of cultural and tourism industry,it uses coupling coordination theory and ESDA to calculate and describe the integration development level and spatial pattern from 2012 to 2019.Based on the OLS and the GWR,this paper discusses the influencing factors and spatial differences of the integration development, and then come up with some suggestions for the deep integration. The results show:(1)There is a close correlation between these two industries, which forms the basis for the integration. The internal driving force including the pursuit of maximization of enterprise benefits and the external driving force such as government policy support jointly promote the integrated development of the two industries;(2)From 2012 to 2019,the level of integration development in China has been rising, but there are differences between regions. At the national level,Guangdong Province has always ranked first in the country, while Zhejiang,Jiangsu,Shandong,Sichuan,Beijing and Shanghai have a high degree of coordination. At the same time, the level of integrated development in Qinghai,Tibet and Ningxia is relatively low. From a regional perspective,it shows the spatial distribution characteristics of the eastern region is higher, the central region is second, and the western and northeast regions are relatively backward, with obvious differences among regions.(3)The convergence degree of cultural industry and tourism industry reached the highest in 2017,and decreased in 2019,but it was still more concentrated than that in 2012.From a local perspective: Jiangsu,Zhejiang and Shanghai belong to the "high-high" mode;Inner Mongolia,Xinjiang and Gansu belong to the "low-low" mode;Sichuan Province belongs to the "high-low" mode;Jiangxi Province belongs to the "low-high" mode.(4)The results of OLS show that, government support, market demand, scientific and technological innovation, transportation conditions and human resources can significantly promote the integration of the two industries.Among them, human resource is the leading factor, which fully reflects the concept of talent as the first resource.(5)The results of GWR show that there are significant spatial differences in the effects of the above influencing factors.Human resources and transportation conditions have a great influence on the western part of our country, while government support has a more significant influence on Jiangxi and Hunan.Scientific and technological innovation has a great influence on Shandong and northeast regions, and market demand has a more obvious effect on northern regions such as Shaanxi. Finally, based on the above research, the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are put forward: first, improve the personnel training guarantee mechanism, improve the quality of cultural tourism service;Second, strengthen industrial policy support, improve transportation and other infrastructure construction;Third, explore diversified means to stimulate residents’ cultural travel consumption demand;Fourth, increase investment in scientific and technological innovation, promote smart development;Fifth, improve business environment and strengthen inter-regional cooperation and exchanges.
