In the Chinese character system,there are a certain number of similar characters with similar glyph structures but different meanings.Such similar-form characters increase the difficulty of identifying and writing Chinese characters.For Pakistani international students who are in the cultural circle of non-Chinese characters,the writing of similar-form characters is the most prone to errors in the writing of Chinese characters.This paper firstly sorts and categorizes the similar-form characters in the vocabulary list of Boya Chinese · Elementary I,the textbook used by international students in HPU,and then sorts out the similar-form characters in the classroom work and after-school exercises of the Pakistani students in the school.The writing error corpus,referring to the writing errors of Pakistani students with intermediate and advanced Chinese proficiency in the Global Chinese Interlanguage Corpus,this paper screened out 39 groups of Pakistani students who are prone to writing errors in the range of Chinese characters in the textbook vocabulary list.According to the error situation,this paper subdivides the similar-form characters errors of Pakistani students into three types: single-element similar-form characters errors,combined characters with similar form errors,and mixed type of similar-form characters errors.The reasons for the errors are the complexity of Chinese characters,negative transfer of mother tongue,the cognitive mechanism of learners,the influence of Chinese characters learning strategies and goals,and the influence of teachers.Based on the error analysis,this paper proposed corresponding suggestions from the aspects of teaching methods,teaching forms and practice of similar-form characters.In the teaching of similar-form characters,teachers should use targeted Chinese character teaching methods such as etymology analysis,word analysis,and component analysis.Do interesting processing;teachers can design more targeted exercises and interesting exercises in the form of near-character exercises.I hope to provide an effective reference for the teaching of similar-form characters.
