Research On Input-output Efficiency And Influencing Factors Of Chinese Animation Industry

The As a "smokeless heavy industry",the animation industry has been developing rapidly in China.However,there is still a gap between the overall development level of Chinese animation industry and that of developed countries.Improving input-output efficiency is the urgent demand for the development of Chinese animation industry.Based on the data related to the animation industry from 2012 to 2019 included in the 2013-2020 China Culture and Cultural Relics Statistical Yearbook(renamed as China Culture,Cultural Relics and Tourism Statistical Yearbook in 2019)and China Culture and Related Industries Statistical Yearbook,the paper measures the static efficiency and dynamic efficiency of inputs and outputs through DEA-BCC model and RD-Malmquist index model,respectively.The factors influencing the input-output efficiency of Chinese animation industry are analyzed by using Tobit regression model.The measurement results show that the static efficiency including comprehensive technical efficiency,pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency is in DEA nonefficiency state in the sample time,and the development of each efficiency level is unstable,with an overall wave-like ups and downs.The comprehensive technical efficiency of animation industry in central China is the best(0.914),followed by eastern China(0.890),while western China(0.860)and northeastern China(0.846)are low.The dynamic efficiency of input and output of Chinese animation industry is in a growing trend.The central region has the most obvious trend of total factor productivity growth(1.291),the northeast(1.173)has a slightly higher growth rate than the east(1.171),and the west has the smallest growth rate(1.042).Overall,although the inputoutput efficiency of Chinese animation industry has not reached the effective level of DEA,it is in a state of steady improvement and has development potential.Three factors,including independent innovation ability,cultural and recreational consumption level and social openness,have a significant positive impact on the input-output efficiency of Chinese animation industry,while the development of the tertiary industry has a significant negative impact on Chinese animation industry because it fails to effectively realize its main function.In order to improve the input-output efficiency of Chinese animation industry,it is necessary to enhance the service function and organization and coordination function of the tertiary industry,stimulate the long-term mechanism of consumption demand to boost the level of cultural and recreational consumption of residents,establish a high-level open investment and trade system,strengthen technological innovation,and improve the independent innovation ability of Chinese animation.
