English Curriculum Standards(2022 edition)proposes that teachers should provide timely feedback in teaching,so that they can not only timely understand students ’learning situation,but also summarize,reflect and adjust students’ teaching behavior.This means that how to make the junior middle school English homework feedback to promote the improvement of students’ English level is a great challenge for English teachers.The author selected 185 students and their English teachers from grade 8 of a junior middle school in Yichang as the research objects to carry out a survey on the status of the feedback of junior middle school English extracurricular homework through questionnaire survey,interview and observation,aiming to answer the following questions: 1)What is the status quo of English homework feedback in junior high school? 2)What are the problems in the feedback of English homework? 3)What are the strategies to improve the feedback effect of English homework?According to the characteristics of interaction and dialogue,the author carries out the investigation and study on the feedback of junior middle school English homework.Questionnaires,interviews and observations were used to understand whether the feedback of English homework conforms to the core points of intersubjectivity: Teachers and students are equal in teaching,and they are all the main body of the classroom.This survey is divided into two rounds.The first round of questionnaire survey was conducted to understand the basic status of homework feedback.But to better understand the current state of English homework feedback,interviews and observations are essential.In the second round,we can understand the forms and methods that teachers are used to when dealing with English homework,mainly through interviews,classroom observation and other tools to collect data,compare and analyze the data to get results.The results show that junior high school students can realize the importance of homework correction and homework evaluation;In addition,teachers can actively correct and comment on students’ English homework.In the process of commenting,teachers mainly focus on mistakes and key issues,and appropriately expand their knowledge.However,the feedback of English extracurricular homework has the following problems: the atmosphere of criticism is tense,and students are not active in class;The correction symbols are monotonous and lack of targeted comments;The feedback subject is single,and there is no interaction between teachers and students.In view of the problems existing in the current situation of homework feedback,this paper puts forward the following suggestions: create a relaxed and harmonious classroom atmosphere to enhance students’ learning enthusiasm;Use correction symbols flexibly and add targeted comments;Realize the subjective role of students and enhance the interaction between teachers and students.This has certain reference value for the improvement of the feedback effect of junior middle school English homework.
