With the vigorous development of agricultural technology and the emphasis on agricultural environment,a large number of agricultural documents are emerging.Agriculture is an important as a large agricultural country. For our country, learning western agricultural development, science and technology,is conducive to learn other advantages to develop our country’s agriculture. Therefore, the translation of agricultural documents is very important.Organic agriculture is not only good for agriculture itself, but also for economic development.Foreign countries have been exploring how organic agriculture can lead to sustainable crop production.Organic agriculture in western countries, especially the United States, has been quite rich in practical experience, but the domestic development is relatively slow.In this paper, some chapters of Sustainable Development of Organic Agriculture: A Historical Perspective by Kim Etingoff are selected to be translated to introduce the development process and relevant advantages of organic agriculture in foreign countries to Chinese people,so as to bring some enlightenment to the development of domestic agriculture.According to Eco-transtology theory, the English translation of agricultural science and technology texts should not only consider the accuracy of the language, but also consider the acceptability of the target readers.Eco-transtology theory studies the interaction between the translator and the ecological environment of translation. The translator should give play to the subjectivity and choose adaptively to the source text, which provides theoretical support for the translation of agricultural science and technology texts. Therefore, the translator can analyze the translation from the aspects of language, culture and communication so as to achieve a dynamic balance in the translation. From the perspective of Eco-transtology theory, this paper selects the classic cases in Sustainable Development of Organic Agriculture: A Historical Perspective, and analyzes them from three dimensions: language, culture and communication. It is beneficial to broaden the theoretical depth of agricultural technology and has guiding significance for future research.
