The current development of society has entered a new stage, with economic growth beginning to slow down. The majority of industries have shifted from competing in growth markets to competing in mature markets. The development of the economy and social progress increasingly rely on knowledge workers who primarily engage in intellectual labor. However, knowledge workers often experience job burnout when facing increased workloads and intensified organizational competition. This not only affects their physical and mental health, personal life, and job performance, but also has adverse effects on the competitiveness of the organization. Therefore, this study focuses on knowledge workers, investigating their work pressure,self-efficacy,and job burnout, exploring the relationships among these three factors, and introducing network group psychological counseling for intervention in the self-efficacy of knowledge workers, while testing its effectiveness. This study provides theoretical evidence for improving the job burnout of knowledge workers and offers new ideas for future relevant research. The study consists of two sub-studies:Study 1: Using a questionnaire survey, the study measures knowledge workers using the Work Stress Inventory,General Self-Efficacy Scale, and Job burnout Scale.A total of324 valid data sets were obtained and statistically analyzed to explore the relationships among work pressure,self-efficacy,and job burnout. The study shows that(1)work pressure and job burnout have a significant positive correlation, while self-efficacy has a significant negative correlation with both work pressure and job burnout.(2)Self-efficacy plays a partial mediating role between work pressure and job burnout.Study 2: Based on Study 1,the study recruits 22 volunteers with low self-efficacy and severe job burnout through online public recruitment, and controls for variables such as age, gender, and job position to minimize experimental errors. The experimental group receives six sessions of group counseling for self-efficacy,focusing on four sources of self-efficacy(successful experiences, vicarious experiences, verbal persuasion, and emotional arousal),while the control group receives no intervention. The self-efficacy and job burnout questionnaires from Study 1 are used to measure the participants before and after the intervention, and follow-up measurements are taken one month after the group counseling ends. The study shows that network group psychological counseling designed for self-efficacy can effectively reduce the job burnout of knowledge workers by improving their self-efficacy.The intervention effect is maintained one month after the intervention. This study focuses on knowledge workers, further expanding and enriching the relationships among work pressure,self-efficacy,and job burnout. It proves the partial mediating role of self-efficacy between work pressure and job burnout and adopts online group counseling to intervene in self-efficacy,which provides a theoretical and practical basis for improving the self-efficacy of knowledge workers and reducing their job burnout. |
