| With the rapid development of information technology and the integration of globalization,the key to national power is transforming from hard power to soft power,and public opinion and news information will become the country’s power resource center.During the COVID-19 pandemic,the US government used a variety of topics and forms to launch a public opinion war against China to suppress China’s international image during the pandemic.This research focuses on three core issues.First,what are the forms and characteristics of the spread of public opinion on Chinarelated epidemics in the United States;second,what are the difficulties and causes faced by the Chinese government in responding to public opinions on China-related epidemics in the United States;third,How can the Chinese government improve its ability to respond to public opinion crises involving the epidemic in ChinaIn the context of the global epidemic,the US-led public opinion on China has shown new content and new features.Affected by the social media environment and political tendencies,US netizens have increased their hostile sentiment towards China,and their sentiments are affected by fluctuations in public opinion,and the polarization of the public opinion field is more prominent.The content of the liberal and conservative media’s reports is influenced by political tendencies,and they are objective and skeptical respectively.American politicians have become a key driver of the polarization of public opinion,using eight types of public opinion offensives and four incitement methods to stigmatize China.International organizations represented by the WHO participated in the Sino-US debate and played an active role.At present,China has made certain achievements in responding to the crisis of China-related public opinion,but difficulties have gradually emerged.The long-term negative sentiment of the American people towards my country affects our country’s overseas public opinion guidance effect;the ideological differences between China and the United States have deepened the confrontation of public opinion between the two countries;the development of global information technology has made rumors related to China complex;The "Hate the Country Party" spread false information both at home and abroad,etc.,which aggravated the significance of the problem.The reason for the crisis of public opinion is closely related to the strengthening of the political participation function of social media,the influence of China-related public opinion on China’s policies,and the increasing unfriendliness of the international public opinion environment to China.In the face of the constantly updated global media environment and the ongoing epidemic,the Chinese government should design the overall layout of China-related public opinion crisis response in a targeted manner.In terms of information release,promote the in-depth integration of epidemic-related news releases with overseas social media,explore new models for overseas epidemic-related news releases,create Internet celebrity spokespersons that integrate into American public opinion,and transform overseas rumors dispelling methods and contexts;in terms of public opinion guidance,Strengthen the guidance of key groups and epidemic-related issues,open the window of communication for the "Generation Z" groups,strengthen the construction of "community" and "human rights" issues,and strive for the support of public opinion from countries around the "Belt and Road";actively promote overseas Leverage the role of third-party organizations such as US self-media,social platform online review teams,public opinion think tanks,etc.,to encourage Chinese youth groups to play an important role in outreach and enhance the effectiveness of public opinion guidance. |
