Research On The Professional Identity Of Counselors In Public Security Colleges

Under the background of promoting the modernization of public security work,public security colleges and universities,as the main position of cultivating public security reserve forces,shoulder an important mission.As the life mentor of the senior police officer and the first responsible person of the police education management,the public security college counselor(squadron leader)has played an irreplaceable role in cultivating the preparatory police officers in the new era.The professional identity of counselors in public security colleges refers to the perception,attitude,emotion and evaluation of the subjects engaged in police management and ideological and political education in public security higher education colleges,which is the internal power to realize self-drive,improve work performance and promote career development.This study is based on ERG theory,self-efficacy theory and social identity theory,with national representative police college counselors as the research objects,mainly using questionnaire method and interview method.Firstly,the existing domestic and foreign research results of professional recognition,college counselors as well as that of counselors,according on the six dimensions of professional recognition,occupational value,occupational efficiency,occupational emotion,career intention,and expectation,etc.Studies found that the current public security colleges counselors professional identity at a higher level(M=4.03),but the professional will,professional will and expectation dimension mean low,in gender,income,students,nature,marital status,the main factors in the school policy,individual and interpersonal relationship,family coordination,etc.In this paper,this paper puts forward the countermeasures to enhance the professional identity of the counselors in public security colleges from three aspects: strengthening the personal learning and development mechanism,improving the work support system and optimizing the training system of professional ability construction.
