Research On China’s Economic Diplomacy To Thailand After The Cold War

Since the end of the Cold War,economic diplomacy has become an important way for China to promote development and cooperation as China’s economic ties with other countries have grown closer.As an important country in China’s neighborhood diplomacy and a comprehensive strategic cooperative partner of China,Thailand has gradually become an important link in China’s Belt and Road Initiative in recent years.In the context of deepening China’s all-round diplomatic layout and promoting great power diplomacy with Chinese characteristics,China’s continued strengthening of economic diplomacy with Thailand has certain theoretical value and practical significance in promoting China’s economic development,enhancing China’s international influence and improving its neighboring diplomatic environment.Based on the definition,manifestation and role of economic diplomacy,this paper analyzes and studies China’s economic diplomacy toward Thailand in the light of the evolution and changes of China’s economic diplomacy and Sino-Thai relations,starting from two forms of economic diplomacy,namely economic assistance and economic cooperation.Firstly,this paper analyzes the background of China’s economic diplomacy with Thailand.Secondly,through an in-depth and comprehensive review of the development process and its manifestations,it is found that China’s economic diplomacy with Thailand after the Cold War was dominated by economic cooperation and supplemented by economic aid,basically without the use of economic sanctions,and that economic aid was mostly developmental aid.Finally,it concludes with a summary of the characteristics,influencing factors,and effectiveness and impact,pointing out the successes and problems of China’s economic diplomacy with Thailand.Through in-depth research and comprehensive analysis,it can be learned that China’s economic diplomacy has entered a more mature and confident stage,and China continues to strengthen its economic diplomacy with Thailand.The main factor that has enabled the deepening of SinoThai relations continues to be economic development,and the promotion of politics through economics has become more pronounced.And regional cooperation organizations and mechanisms are becoming more and more important platforms for the deepening development of Sino-Thai relations.At the same time,there are shortcomings in China-Thailand economic diplomacy.In the future,China’s economic diplomacy should focus on improving people-to-people relations between China and Thailand,and moreover,it should continue to promote the standardization of trade and investment cooperation in a timely manner according to the actual situation and help eliminate trade barriers between China and the target countries.
