With the improvement of people’s living standard,people pay more and more attention to the education of children.Because there are different dimensions between parenting style and aggression,and because there is no consistent conclusion on the relationship between parenting style and aggression of primary and secondary school students,many parents do not know which parenting style to choose to reduce aggression of primary and secondary school students.A total of 56 articles and 187 independent studies were collected in this study to study the relationship between parental rearing style and aggression of primary and middle school students through the research method of meta-analysis.Through the cross-analysis of all dimensions of parenting style and aggression of primary and middle school students,through the analysis of homogeneity test,publication bias test and moderator variables,the results of the relationship between parenting style and aggression of primary and middle school students are as follows:F1 is negatively correlated with all attack types;The mean effect values of F2,verbal aggression and physical aggression are 0.28 and 0.29,respectively;The mean effect valuesof F3,verbal aggression and physical aggression are 0.17 and0.16,respectively;The mean effect values of F5,verbal aggression,physical aggression,anger and hostility are 0.20,0.26,0.28 and 0.28,respectively;The mean effect values of F6,verbal aggression,physical aggression,anger and hostility are 0.14,0.17,0.26 and 0.30,respectively;The mean effect values of M1,verbal aggression,physical aggression and hostility are-0.12,-0.14 and-0.23,respectively.The mean effect values of M2,verbal aggression,physical aggression,anger and hostility are 0.19,0.19,0.27 and 0.31,respectively.The average effect values of M3,verbal aggression,physical aggression,anger and hostility are 0.27,0.28,0.27 and 0.28,respectively.The mean effect values of M4,verbal aggression,physical aggression,anger and hostility are 0.24,0.27,0.36 and0.30,respectively.The mean effect value of M5 and verbal aggression is 0.24.The analysis of moderating effect shows that there are moderating variables between various dimensions of parenting style and most aggressive types.Journal type,subject gender,number of subjects and parenting style scale play a moderating role in the relationship between some dimensions of parenting style and aggression of primary and middle school students,while subject area,aggression scale and aggression style play a moderating role in all dimensions of parenting style and aggression relationship of primary and middle school students.This study draws the following conclusions:1.The relationship between different dimensions of parenting style and aggressive types of primary and middle school students is affected by dimensions.For example,F1 is significantly negatively correlated with verbal aggression;F2was significantly positively correlated with physical aggression.2.The relationship between F1,F4,F6,M1,M4 and total score of aggressiveness is affected by publication bias.The relationship between F2,F3,F5,M2,M3 M5 and total score of aggressiveness is not affected by publication bias3.The relationship between parenting style and aggression of primary and middle school students is moderated by journal type,grade,gender,region,sample size,parenting style scale and aggression scale.
