A Study On The Mediating Role Of Aesthetic Ability Between College Students' Personality Traits And Creativit

Creativity is an important driving force for social progress and development,and the school stage is the key period to cultivate individual creative ability.Therefore,it is very important to study the characteristics and mechanism of creativity of college students to effectively improve creative ability.Existing literature shows that creativity is correlated with personality traits,and personality traits directly or indirectly affect creativity.Aesthetic ability is a kind of perception,appreciation,evaluation and individual ability of creating beauty,this study introduced the concept of aesthetic ability,and is compiled to meng-cheng wang,etc of the big five personality scale short form Chinese edition,Dan preparation of aesthetic ability scale and Xu Qiqi revised the Williams creativity tendency scale for measuring tool,A questionnaire survey was conducted on 398 college students.Statistical software such as SPSS21.0 and AMOS21.0 was used to make statistics and analysis on the collected data,and the correlation between personality traits,aesthetic ability and creativity as well as the mechanism of action were investigated.The main conclusions are as follows:Firstly,there are significant differences between men and women in terms of the film dimension of aesthetic ability.Girls’ appreciation of films is significantly higher than boys’.Second,neuroticism,conscientiousness,agreeableness,openness,extroversion,aesthetic ability and its sub-dimension,creativity and its sub-dimension are correlated.Agreeableness and openness significantly positively predicted creativity,conscientiousness,agreeableness and openness significantly positively predicted aesthetic ability,and aesthetic ability significantly positively predicted creativity.Thirdly,in the relationship among college students’ personality traits,aesthetic ability and creativity,aesthetic ability plays a significant mediating role between conscientiousness and creativity,agreeableness and creativity,openness and creativity,and aesthetic ability helps promote individual creativity.Fourthly,the mediation model of aesthetic ability between some dimensions of personality traits and creativity fits well.This study through the investigation of personality,aesthetic ability and creativity as well as the mechanism of action,the relationship between can further found that personality traits of different dimensions by aesthetic ability this variable to the impact of creativity,to improve the individual aesthetic ability,promote the development of art education,enhance the capacity of individual innovation plays an important role,according to different individuals,the development characteristics of aesthetic education,Enhance individual aesthetic ability,stimulate and improve students’ creative quality,and cultivate more creative talents for the society.
