As a significant measure to effectively conduct geography teaching,the development and utilization of local geography curriculum resources has always been the focus of national curriculum reform,in addition,to develop and utilize local geography resources has been a significant link of the implementation of the reform plan in all cities.Local geography,students’ “geography around”,plays an indispensable role in the cultivation of the students’ geographic core quality and the devotion to family and country.At present,we find that there are many demerits in the development and utilization of local geography curriculum resources.Based on that,this paper conducts a systematic research on the development and utilization of the local geography curriculum resources in Tai’an.Research methods such as literature search,questionnaires and case analysis method were used to sort out the local geography curriculum resources in Tai’an,to investigate the development and utilization of the local geography curriculum resources in Tai’an,to explore the principles and strategies for the development and utilization of the local geography curriculum resources in Tai’an,and to develop teaching design cases.The main findings of this research are as follows:(1)Tai’an has quite rich local geography curriculum resources.It can provide support for the development and utilization of high school local geography curriculum resources.(2)The actual development and utilization of the local geography curriculum resources in Tai’an is worrying.The investigation and analysis of the current situation of the development and utilization of the local geography curriculum resources in Tai’an reveals that there are some problems in the current development and utilization of the local geography curriculum resources,such as teachers and students’ have insufficient awareness of the local geography resources in Tai’an,the lack of attention to the development and utilization of the local geography by the relevant school departments,the single way of applying the local geography curriculum resources and the shortage of practice,and the worrying effect of the implementation of the local geography curriculum.(3)Aiming at the problems identified,this paper proposes corresponding teaching strategies from two main aspects: teachers and students,schools and localities.The teacher and student levels include:(1)To conduct geography research activities,cultivating students’ geography practical power;(2)To incorporate cases of local geography teaching,inspiring students’ study interest.(3)To develop local geography teaching materials by integrating current teaching material;(4)To implement diversified teaching assessment to consolidate the effect of local geography curriculum resources in teaching.The school and local levels include:(1)Schools actively organize teacher training to improve teachers’ ability to develop and utilize local geography curriculum resources.(2)Strengthening school-enterprise and school-local cooperation,to build a local geography curriculum resource bank and establish a local geography practice base.(4)Based on above issues,combining the local geography curriculum resources in Tai’an City with the Shandong Education Press version of high school geography textbooks,according to the curriculum standards,two teaching designs,“Location Selection of Service Industry” and“Biosphere and Vegetation”,were designed and applied to classroom teaching.The teaching implementation process has mobilized the enthusiasm of students in classroom learning,and the classroom atmosphere is more active.While acquiring knowledge,students have deepened their understanding of their hometowns and enhanced their love for their hometowns.
