A Study On The Professionalization Dilemma Of Professional Social Workers

With the enhancement of China’s national strength,the economy has developed rapidly,but the social development has not kept pace with the pace of economic development.Existing social security and management measures cannot properly solve the new problems arising from economic development.Social work developed in recent decades has played an irreplaceable role in dealing with the social problems caused by the rapid development of market economy and system reform.Under the "top-down" promotion of the government,professional posts of social work have been established in China.However,as time goes by,the professional development of social work has encountered a "bottleneck",and professional social workers will encounter difficult difficulties in the service process.The development of social work in Beijing is relatively early and the professionalization process is fast.To study the difficulties of professional social workers in the process of professionalization in Beijing,analyze the difficulties and find out their causes,and put forward the corresponding countermeasures,which has certain reference significance for professional social workers in other areas of China to break through the professionalization difficulties.Because of this,corresponding research has been carried out.The professionalization dilemma of professional social work is mainly divided into the standardization and standardization of professional social workers’ work and the institutionalization of professional social workers’ work.Professional social workers work standardization,standardization of difficulties including professional club committee workers face value conflicts in the process of work,professional social workers in the working process of the lack of professional support,professional social workers professional post content positioning is not clear,professional social workers work serious security administration,professional social workers working hours are not stable Professional social workers are prone to job burnout.The difficulties in the institutionalization of professional social workers’ work include a relatively single source of funds for social work institutions,low public recognition of social work,imperfect laws and policies on social work professionalism,and low salary for professional social workers.The causes of professional social workers’ professional predicament are mainly reflected in three aspects: individual,institution and society.At the individual level,reasons include insufficient psychological resilience,insufficient professional competence,insufficient support from family and peer groups,lack of interest in work,and multiple role conflicts.At the institutional level,the reasons include inappropriate management,bad institutional culture and unfavorable working environment,imperfect vocational re-education mechanism,insufficient social resources,poor industry image created by practitioners,and formalized performance evaluation.At the social level,the professional standard system is not perfect,the social recognition is low,the phenomenon of multiple management is serious,and the theoretical system of social work with Chinese characteristics is not perfect.Some courses in some universities are not reasonable enough.The relevant countermeasures to break through the professionalization dilemma of social workers are mainly divided into three aspects: first,professional social workers should improve their professional ability,which mainly includes the ability to talk,interview and communicate with people,the ability to sustainable development,and the ability to identify and act as professional social workers;Secondly,institutional construction,including multi-dimensional supervision and support,institutional system reform,diversified training mode,service process improvement,high-quality office environment,the establishment of peer supervision group;The third is social attention and support,including strengthening the leading publicity,creating policies and mechanisms conducive to the development of social workers,cultivating localized social work theories,arranging courses in different directions for social work majors in colleges and universities,and promoting the professionalization of professional social workers through the full cooperation of all sectors of society.
