Based on every country’s colossal demand for all-round developed talents in the 21st century,a new educational idea STEAM stands out.STEAM is the extension of STEM,an acronym for the five fields of science,technology,engineering,mathematics and arts.STEAM educational idea conforms to the general trend of education reform and development,which coincides with the concept of new curriculum reform of high school physics.In recent years,STEAM education has attracted a great deal of attention from educational researchers in China,and Chinese educational experts and front-line teachers have done a lot of researches on STEAM education,while few of them have integrated STEAM education into high school physics teaching and done practical research.For this reason,based on previous research achievements,this paper studied“how to conduct teaching design based on STEAM idea and integrate STEAM idea into high school physics teaching practice”.In part 1,a large amount of information on STEAM education was collected,identified and organized,and then the current state of research on STEAM education at home and abroad was sorted out.In part 2,the author introduced the meaning,teaching model and theoretical basis of STEAM education to lay a foundation for subsequent STEAM teaching.Then in part 3,the author analyzed the operability of STEAM education in high school physics class through investigating the teaching status of STEAM in high school physics class from both teacher and student perspectives.And in part 4,it put forward three strategies of promoting STEAM idea for the status in part 3 and determined the design process of high school physics teaching based on STEAM idea in combination with general parts of high school physics teaching.The whole design process included six parts;selection of teaching content,teaching analysis,teaching objective,important and difficult points of teaching,teaching process and teaching evaluation.Besides,it found out relevant STEAM teaching resources from new teaching materials of high school physics published by People’s Education Press and completed the teaching design of Making of Tool for Measuring the Response Time,Composition and Separation of Mechanics,Analysis on Volt-ampere Characteristics of Small Bulb,and Making of the Simple Motor.In part 5,according to current course schedule,it selected Making of the Simple Motor for teaching practice,obtained the practice effect in class by means of questionnaire survey and interview for students and teachers,and carried out teaching evaluation with evaluation scale.The survey showed that the designed curriculum was widely accepted by students and teachers,enhanced the students’knowledge related to the acting force of magnetic field on electric wire and trained the students’abilities of design and making in the process of making the simple motor.Finally,in part 6,it summarized above research contents and looked forward to the future with a hope of providing teaching references to physics teachers who implemented STEAM classroom teaching and enriching STEAM education resource library through this research.
