In 2014,New College Entrance Examination Reform started with the selectivity as its core value and the selective examination system as its focus.It has been seven years and the focus of the new college entrance examination reform has gradually shifted from the reform of examination system to high school education mode.The high school career guidance education is the vital part of the reform of high school education mode.It is the key to whether the students can develop in an all-round and healthy way under the reform environment and whether the reform can maintain the original intention of its design.The quality of teachers determines the quality of high school career guidance education,but there are some problems such as the lack of high school career guidance teachers and the lack of professionalism.In order to improve the teaching skills of career teachers in high schools,it is necessary to define which abilities are the key abilities of outstanding career teachers.Therefore,the research introduces the concept of teacher’s competency,which includes external abilities such as pedagogical knowledge and skills,as well as internal abilities such as personality and character.When the model of career guidance teacher’s competency is established,and the factors affecting the competency are found out,we could put forward the training,management and assessment methods of career teachers,and the high school career education would be into the right track.The research used literature analysis,behavioral event interviews,a questionnaire based on the "360-degree assessment" to build the competency model of high school career guidance teacher,The model includes teaching,professional development,interpersonal communication,personality and professional character.And the path coefficient which can calculate the average of career teacher’s competency was determined by path analysis.Combined with the teacher questionnaire results,further explores were inducted to reveal the influence factors of career guidance teachers’ competency.It is found that the average competency of current senior high school teachers is low,interpersonal communication ability and professional development ability are the weakest.The competency of full-time teachers,teachers who adopt independent curriculum teaching,teachers who have read more recently,teachers who have been trained for a long time and teacher who are more satisfied with their salary is obviously better than teachers who are part-time teachers,teachers who adopt disciplinary infiltration,teachers who have read less,teachers who have been trained for a short time and who are less satisfied with their salary.In addition,gender,overall teaching experience,educational background,professional title and other factors have no significant impact on teacher’s competency.The research shows that the problem of the competencyof career guidance teachers in senior high school lies in: The shortage of teachers makes the part-time teachers too many and the teaching research is difficult to carry out;The "burnout period" transition leads to the lower professional development ability of career teachers;Lack of understanding of the connotation of career guidance education leads to low interpersonal communication ability;The lack of professional standards prevents high school career education from getting on right track.Based on the resul we should,Develope school-based career guidance courses to improve the average competency of teachers,Deepen teachers-training content,Teachers should actively improve their sense of self-efficacy,And establish professional standards and promotion mechanism for career teachers.
