Under the background of the new college entrance examination reform,the college entrance examination has been transformed from a liberal arts and sciences model to a professional-priority model.Students have to consider the career development direction in advance,and determine the selective subjects accordingly.The current career guidance provided by school cannot provide students with a thorough understanding of various subject areas.Subject teachers,as important others and “experts” in the subject area,must assume the responsibility of subject career guidance.In order for subject teachers to devote themselves to the work of subject career guidance and establish a team with both experts and non-experts,it is necessary to clarify the role of subject teachers in the career guidance system and the corresponding teacher professional development needs.Therefore,the key questions to be solved in this research are: What kind of career guidance competency do high school teachers need? What is the current status of high school teachers' subject career guidance competency? What is the influence mechanism of high school teachers' subject career guidance competency?This study,through literature research,expert group discussion and other methods,clarifies the connotation of the related concepts of high school teachers',explores the role of teachers in career guidance,build the subject career guidance competency index system from the role perspective,and finally develop a high school teachers' subject career guidance competency assessment scale.Through the questionnaire survey to understand the current status of high school teachers' subject career guidance competency,use structural equation models and rooted theory methods to explore the competency's influence mechanism,and provide reference suggestions for improving high school teachers' subject career guidance competency.The study finds that the current subject career guidance competency of high school teachers are generally insufficient,and there are differences among different groups of teachers;High school teachers' subject career guidance competency are developed in practice,lacking theoretical guidance;The competency is affected by combined effect of internal factors(subject career guidance practice experience,personal experience and social experience)and external factors(school support,teacher cooperation,education and training,social needs).Accordingly,it is proposed that the current teacher training needs to strengthen the theoretical guidance of subject career guidance and achieve the growth of subject career guidance competency in practice;improve pre-employment and post-employment education,strengthen the education and training of subject career guidance competency for high school teachers;establish a cooperative community of subject career guidance,and achieve internal and external linkage;improve the career guidance system and create a supportive environment for subject career guidance.
