| The traditional knowledge production mode Ⅰ is characterized by "single discipline",but with the change of diversified demands for scientific knowledge and high-level talents from multiple subjects,the new knowledge production mode Ⅱemphasizing "interdisciplinarity,applicability and social context" has emerged and continues to develop.The new knowledge production mode II,which emphasizes "interdisciplinarity,application and social context",has emerged and developed,and has put forward new requirements for academic doctoral students.The cultivation model of academic doctoral students refers to the basic process or cultivation procedure that is guided by educational ideas and formed in practice to achieve certain cultivation goals,which can be divided into cultivation goals,enrollment selection,degree courses,supervisory guidance,thesis and institutional guarantee.Based on the theory of knowledge production mode,this thesis takes "academic doctoral students cultivation mode" as the theme,and builds a theoretical analysis framework from the aspects of cultivation goal,cultivation process(enrollment method,curriculum,guidance method,dissertation),and institutional guarantee(quality evaluation,triage and elimination system),and through the study of interviewing more than ten academic doctoral students from different universities to understand the current situation and problems of academic doctoral training in China.At the same time,the practical experiences of Harvard University,Stanford University,Massachusetts Institute of Technology,University of California at Berkeley,and University of Michigan in transforming academic doctoral training are explored based on the new knowledge production model II,with a view to providing insights for reforming the academic doctoral training model in China.Through interviews with academic doctoral students and case studies of well-known American universities,this dissertation draws the following important conclusions: in the face of the transformation of the new knowledge production model,the cultivation model of academic doctoral students in China needs to keep pace with the times.In terms of cultivation objectives,it should emphasize not only the establishment of disciplinary knowledge structure,acquisition of scientific research ability,and innovative contribution to the development of the discipline,but also the cultivation of comprehensive quality of doctoral students,including interpersonal skills,teamwork ability,interdisciplinary ability,and applied innovation ability,to meet the diverse needs of society for high quality doctoral students.In terms of admission selection,the application assessment should appropriately dilute the index of scientific research achievements,and add indexes to examine whether doctoral students have interdisciplinary background,academic qualifications and research ability to engage in interdisciplinary research,etc,so as to make comprehensive screening in a more flexible and mobile way;Set up richer and more diversified academic doctoral courses,and increase the proportion of interdisciplinary,inter-institutional,seminar and methodological courses,etc,so as to consolidate professional basic abilities and To broaden research horizons.The combination of individual tutoring and collective guidance by tutors can effectively utilize the advantageous resources of different tutors and stimulate students’ multidimensional,interdisciplinary and innovative thinking.In addition,it should strictly guarantee the training quality of academic doctoral students,supervise and standardize the opening,evaluation and defense of thesis,implement the triage and elimination mechanism,and do a good job of internal and external evaluation to fundamentally improve the training quality of doctoral students. |
