| It is an important ecological barrier in the west in China with a significant strategic position.In order to accelerate the economic development of western regions,Chinese government implemented the strategy of large-scale development in the west in 2000.The strategy is aimed at narrowing down regional disparities and expanding domestic demand furthermore,so as to achieve such a purpose of national unity and border security.Besides,it is handful to maintain sustained,rapid and healthy development for national economy and achieve common prosperity.In 2020,the strategy of promoting coordinated economic development in western regions was revived.On one hand,it has risen to a strategic level for coordinated economic development in the west.On the other hand,it is neither sufficient nor balanced for the economic development in western regions.The problem of the brain drain and fragile ecology has risen.The issue of population and industry development is a basic social problem.How to promote the coordinated development of the two systems? It is such a problem that needs to be solved in the economic development of western regions.Based on the theory of population and industry development,systematic coupling and coordination and regional economic development,this paper analyzes coupled and coordinated development of population and industry in western regions.At first,the panel vector auto regressive model is used to verify the influential relationship between population and industry development.That is clarifying the cycle of influence and development path.Then,construct population and industry index system from five aspects of scale,structure,quality,drive and ecology based on the coupling coordination model in order to measure the temporal and spatial changes of the comprehensive coupled and coordinated level of various regions in the west.Finally,the barrier model is used to test the barrier factors in the coupling relationship of two systems.Based on the coordinated relationship and obstacle factors,countermeasures are proposed for improving the coupling relationship between population and industry development in western China.The results show that:(1)Population and industry development are in a mutually Granger causal relationship;the two systems affect each other and work together,so as to produce positive effects.(2)With the change of time series,it has undergone such a stage of evolution from recession to coordination development between population and industry systems.(3)During the specific period,it manifested spatial heterogeneity in the coupling stage of population and industry development in the west.It manifests a spatial change pattern in which Sichuan,Shanxi and Chongqing municipalities ranked first,Gansu and Qinghai in last.And the rest of the provinces and regions lined in the middle.(4)Sichuan,Shanxi and Chongqing are in a period of industrial transformation,with innovation-driven and ecological problems;Gansu and Qinghai are in the traditional industrial development,and impacts of scale and security are the major obstacles in the coupled and coordinated relationship.Barrier factors in the remaining regions are concentrated in the structural,security,innovation and ecological aspects.According to the research,this paper puts forward as following:(1)Because the industry in western regions leaves behind the population development,and the population and industry are the reasons for Granger,the leading role of the industry should be in priority.(2)It is better to optimize policy that is implemented in a targeted manner according to the actual situation and obstacle factors in different coupling types of regions.(3)Establish short-term and long-term optimization policies and adjust them dynamically. |
