Practical writing,as a frequently used literary style in daily life,has the characteristics of practicality and communication.In junior high school,the requirement for students to write practical articles is to write common practical articles according to their daily needs.When writing practical articles,students must always pay attention to the writing purpose and writing object,that is,they need to have a reader awareness.Reader awareness emphasizes that when writing,one should fully consider the reader and be able to adjust their writing content and expression according to their needs.Cultivating reader awareness is beneficial for improving students’ writing skills and thinking,while practical writing is more conducive to cultivating reader awareness.However,the current situation of cultivating reader awareness in practical writing teaching in junior high schools in China is not optimistic,with problems such as weak reader awareness,insufficient reader analysis,and unclear communication.This paper analyzes the problems in cultivating reader awareness in the current teaching of applied writing,and proposes targeted improvement strategies based on the implementation of reader awareness.This article is divided into four parts:The first part: Introduction to the research origin,purpose,content,significance,and methods of reader awareness based practical writing teaching in junior high school.The second part: Define the concepts of "applied writing" and "reader awareness",and summarize the current research status of applied writing teaching and reader awareness.The third part: Through questionnaire surveys,teacher interviews,homework analysis,and lesson analysis,comprehensively understand the relevant situation of reader awareness cultivation in practical writing teaching in junior high school,summarize the current situation of reader awareness cultivation in practical writing teaching,and analyze the causes of weak reader awareness,lack of reader analysis,and lack of attention to readers in composition evaluation in practical writing teaching.The fourth part: This part is the key content of this article.On the basis of clarifying the importance of cultivating reader awareness in the teaching of applied writing in junior high school,and based on the current problems,the author proposes improvement strategies in cultivating students’ concepts,improving students’ writing ability and thinking,and promoting students’ essay revision.These strategies are all feasible teaching methods guided by reader awareness,providing reference for frontline teachers.
