| The participation of parents in school education is of great significance for the growth and development of students.For a long time,parental participation has been a hot topic in the field of education research and has attracted the attention of many researchers.Under the background of "reduce students heavy’ homework burden and off campus training burden",how parents can effectively participate in school education has attracted widespread attention.Conduct a survey on the participation of parents of primary school students in school education,understand the factors that affect parents’ participation under the new policy,the participation of parents in children’s education,what attitudes parents hold towards school education,and what actions they want to take to respond to the various changes in school education after the reform.Provide feasible ideas for the subsequent education management of schools,and make the Joint efforts of education more fully utilized.Therefore,the investigation and research on the participation of primary school parents in school education has certain value,providing ideas for relevant theories and practices,and promoting higher quality parental participation.This study is based on the theory of Epstein’s Overlapping Spheres of influence and selects five aspects of Epstein’s parental participation practice model:parental learning,tutoring learning,communication between a family and school,volunteer service,and management decision-making.The survey results show that parents’ participation in these five aspects is unsatisfactory.The order of participation frequency from high to low is tutoring learning,communication between a family and school,parental learning,volunteer service,and management decision-making.Through further analysis,understand the main factors that affect the participation of primary school parents in school education,including parental factors,school factors,policy factors,and other aspects.Through the analysis of the survey results on the current situation of parents’ participation in school education,it is summarized that there are five problems in parents’ participation in school education:parents lack effective channels for participating in parental learning;Parents lack overall planning in guiding their children’s learning;Parents mainly passively receive information when participating in communication between a family and school;Parents have low enthusiasm for participating in volunteer services;Parents are more superficial in participating in management decision-making.This study traced the causes of the above issues and found the following five reasons:China has not yet established a professional family education guidance service system;The utilitarian educational tendency of parents leads to functional dislocation;The crisis of trust between family and school affects smooth communication between both parties;The low self-efficacy of parents leads to the low participation enthusiasm of parents;The school lacks a democratic and standardized parental participation management mechanism.Finally,this study proposes suggestions from five aspects:multi subjects provide collaboratively the professional family education guidance services;Taking the "reduce students heavy’ homework burden and off campus training burden" policy as an opportunity to transform parents’ utilitarian education tendencies;Establish a collaborative trust mechanism between families and schools to promote efficient communication between families and schools;Strengthen parents’ awareness of subjective responsibility and enhance their ability to participate;Clarify the responsibilities of the school and establish a democratic and standardized parental participation management mechanism.Through this study,the aim is to awaken the potential for parental participation and provide reference for the guidance work of family education in schools and the publicity work of education departments.In the context of the "reduce students heavy homework burden and off campus training burden" policy,it aims to promote the participation of primary school parents in school education and promote the practical work of cooperation between families and schools. |
