In high school Chinese language teaching,reading and writing are two extremely important components that are complementary and indispensable.Reading serves as the foundation of writing,providing the accumulation and construction of knowledge,while writing is the output and application of knowledge.The two are closely connected and intertwined,and the integration of reading and writing should be viewed as a prerequisite for teaching both,running throughout the entire teaching process.However,in high school composition teaching,teachers often overlook the foundation of reading,resulting in a separation between reading and writing.This can make it difficult for students to apply the knowledge gained through reading to their writing,resulting in poor writing outcomes.Therefore,composition teaching should be based on students’ reading foundations and the principle of integrating reading and writing.Through the bidirectional interaction of reading and writing,students’ writing abilities can be improved.This article focuses on the principles of integrating reading and writing and high school composition teaching.It reviews and summarizes the current research situation in China,and proposes the topic of "Application Research of Integrating Reading and Writing in High School Composition Teaching: Taking the Unified Edition Textbook as an Example." The paper is divided into four parts.The first part mainly explains the research origin,significance,research status,and research methods.The second part defines the concept of integrating reading and writing,explains the theoretical basis and application principles of this approach,and summarizes the design characteristics of writing content in the unified edition textbook.The third part investigates the current status of integrating reading and writing in high school composition teaching through a questionnaire survey,identifying the existing problems and analyzing their causes.Finally,the fourth part proposes application strategies for integrating reading and writing in high school composition teaching,with the aim of effectively improving students’ writing abilities and promoting the development of their Chinese language literacy.
