With the continuous changes in the urban education environment, the learning pressure and burden of teenagers are becoming heavier and heavier. When teenagers enter the middle school stage, they still encounter the problem of learning adaptation. There are many reasons for this problem, such as family, school, personal personality, and peer relationships, which can affect their learning adaptability. Therefore, improving the learning adaptability of adolescents is also an important issue of concern in adolescent social work. This study attempts to use group work to educate junior high school freshmen on their cognitive level.By changing the cognition of junior high school freshman towards learning,it helps them adapt to the external learning environment, thereby changing their negative learning behaviors and enhancing their learning adaptability. This study takes J School as an example to investigate and analyze the current situation of learning adaptation among junior high school students through questionnaire surveys and interviews.Starting from the four dimensions of learning motivation, learning skills, learning efficacy, and learning problems,it is found that some junior high school students in J School have weak learning motivation, single learning skills, weak learning efficacy, and many learning problems.Based on social learning theory, select junior high school freshmen with poor learning adaptability from J School and design and carry out 7 group activities for them.Assist junior high school freshmen in strengthening their learning motivation, mastering learning skills, improving their sense of learning efficacy, activating their internal potential, effectively addressing learning problems, and thus enhancing their learning adaptability.Guide group members to respond correctly to external stimuli in group activities, constantly adapt to their learning environment, and find suitable learning methods through independent thinking to help them change their negative learning behaviors. This article will also consider how to better apply the "social learning theory" to group activities, design group activities more scientifically and effectively, avoid the occurrence of a single routine template, and achieve more targeted assistance to students in solving problems they encounter.Research has found that group work guided by social learning theory can effectively enhance the learning adaptability of junior high school freshmen.Social workers ensure that the design of group work is in line with the characteristics of the target audience, and that carrying out activities in combination with specific situations helps to mobilize the enthusiasm of group members, playing an important role in improving the learning adaptability of junior high school freshmen. At the same time,it is also necessary to reflect on how to ensure the continuity of online group work, the individual differences of group members, how to maintain long-term effectiveness after the service is completed, and the problem of online groups easily leading to lack of concentration among group members.
