| The hotel and hospitality industry is a highly practical,operational,and skill-based industry,and vocational education in hotel and hospitality plays a particularly important role in vocational education.Improving the teaching effectiveness of vocational hotel courses,encouraging students to actively participate,and improving the quality of their learning are major concerns and priorities of current vocational colleges.Applying certain teaching models and innovating teaching methods in vocational hotel courses may provide a possibility for optimizing the teaching effectiveness of vocational hotel courses."The course " Front Office Services and Management " is a core course in vocational education for hotel majors,which aims to equip students with front office service knowledge before their on-the-job training and lay the foundation for their future work and career development in the hotel front office reception position.Therefore," Front Office Services and Management " is considered to have the characteristics of wide coverage of knowledge points,emphasis on practical application,team collaboration,and service quality.The " 5E " teaching model is more suitable for learning courses with strong exploratory,practical,and application-oriented features.It is also quite suitable for vocational school students who have poor self-learning ability but seek a sense of participation and achievement in the teaching activities.It largely meets the needs of the " Front Office Services and Management " course and has certain theoretical and practical significance in exploring the application of the " 5E " teaching model in this course."This study adopts action research,statistical analysis,questionnaire survey and interview methods,and takes the course "Front Office Service and Management" in school A as an example,attempting to explore the application of the "5E" teaching mode in vocational hotel courses,and draws the following conclusions: 1)In terms of basic conditions,course characteristics,and student situations,the "5E" teaching mode has good feasibility when applied to the "Front Office Service and Management" course;2)The "5E" teaching mode can develop a set of application strategies in the "Front Office Service and Management" course,which mainly include the pre-class exploration,in-class teaching,and post-class expansion stages;3)Comprehensive evaluation from student classroom performance,student experience,test scores,and full-time teachers’ evaluation,the "5E" teaching mode can achieve good application effects in the "Front Office Service and Management" course. |
