In this paper, the self-confidence of children in difficult situation is taken as a research question, and the relevant information of children in difficult situation is obtained from the community workers and child guardians through the methods of participant observation, scale and interview,to sort out the data and analyze the factors that affect children’s self-confidence,and to evaluate the needs of these difficult children, under the guidance of the dominant perspective theory and social support theory,on the basis of the methods of improving the self-confidence of difficult children in our country, this paper determines the intervention thinking of improving the self-confidence of difficult children by means of art interest training group. The art interest development group consists of three stages and five group activities, which focus on developing the art interest of children in difficult circumstances and encouraging them to develop their self-confidence by mastering art skills.Through the comparison of the front and back data of the difficult children participating in the art interest training group, and the survey of the satisfaction of the difficult children participating in the group activities, the expected effect is basically achieved.Even so,there are still some things that need to be improved in group work, such as how to better apply artistic learning theory to group work and enrich social work, increase the interest of the activities and the enthusiasm of the clients to participate in group activities. At the same time, since social workers themselves are not professionals in the art field,it is difficult to ensure the effectiveness of art interest development groups when using art therapy to carry out activities for disadvantaged children.
