The construction plan of high-level vocational schools and majors with Chinese characteristics(the “Double-high Plan”)aims to improve the quality of vocational education and train and deliver high-quality technical and skilled talents for the country.The construction of high-level teachers is not only one of the essential tasks of the “Double-high Plan” construction but also the carrier for the realization of the “Double-high Plan” construction,which is the effective guarantee for the smooth implementation of the “Double-high Plan”.It is a sufficient guarantee for successfully implementing the “Double-high Program”.In order to improve the comprehensive quality of full-time teachers in higher education institutions,continuing education is critical.Continuing education is an effective means to improve the quality of teachers and a meaningful way to professionalize the teaching staff.Under the background of “the Double-high Plan” construction,all selected institutions in Shandong Province attach great importance to the continuing education of teachers,combined with their reality,improving the mechanism of continuing education of teachers and accelerating the reform of continuing education of teachers.After continuous exploration and development,teachers’ continuing education in Shandong higher vocational institutions has achieved specific results.However,there is also a contradiction between “supply” and “demand” one of the fundamental reasons is the lack of analysis of teachers’ continuing education needs not in place or even one of the crucial reasons is that the analysis of teachers’ demand for continuing education is not in place or even misplaced,which leads to the lack of innovation and uneven quality of continuing education and cannot meet the needs of higher vocational teachers.As the main body and participant in continuing education,teachers are essential in continuing education activities.They are related to the implementation effect of continuing education,so their continuing education needs should be the research focus.This study takes the analysis of the demand for continuing education of senior teachers in Shandong Province as an example.It adopts a combination of quantitative and qualitative research to investigate and understand the specific demand for continuing education of senior teachers in Shandong Province and the problems existing in the current continuing education work,based on which some suggestions are made to improve the effectiveness and relevance of continuing education of senior teachers.The specific research is divided into the following five parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly describes the reason for selecting the topic,the significance of the study,and the research method that compares the Chinese and foreign research results related to this study and does a review.The second part is a theoretical overview of the continuing education needs of higher education teachers in the context of the “Double-high Plan”.This part defines the core concepts of this study,introduces the theoretical basis of this study and analyzes the inherent relationship between the construction of “double-high” and continuing education of higher vocational teachers.The third part presents the demand for continuing education of higher vocational teachers in Shandong Province in the context of the “Double-high Plan” construction.This part is survey research,mainly using questionnaires and interviews to investigate the full-time teachers of the six higher vocational colleges in Shandong Province selected for the “Double-high” program.By collating and analyzing the survey data,we can sort out the implementation of continuing education of senior teachers in Shandong Province and the specific needs of senior teachers for continuing education and summarize the characteristics of the needs of senior teachers in Shandong Province.The fourth part is the analysis of the existing problems and causes of continuing education of senior teachers in Shandong Province based on the demand research under the background of the “Double-high Plan” construction.According to the results of the survey,the problems of continuing education in Shandong higher vocational colleges and universities are discussed,including the deviation of the content,form,schedule and teachers from the actual needs of higher vocational teachers,the utilitarian motivation of some higher vocational teachers to participate in continuing education,the uneven distribution of continuing education opportunities,and the need to improve the assessment and follow-up.For the above problems,the author analyzes from two levels: internal reasons and external reasons.The fifth part is the study of the countermeasures to realize the demand for continuing education of higher vocational teachers in Shandong Province under the background of the“Double-high Plan”construction.The research will discuss the countermeasures that can help teachers’ continuing education needs to be realized at the level of government,continuing education organizations,higher vocational colleges and higher vocational teachers. |
