Life education is an important part of psychological health education in primary and secondary schools,and cannot be ignored.As an important education object,high school students have the important mission of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.However,a large part of high school students show low levels of life meaning and learning motivation,which has a negative impact on their individual growth and development.High school students are in an important stage of self-identity,with high academic pressure and many contradictions in their physical and mental state,which can easily lead to psychological conflicts.Learning is also an important theme in their lives,and life meaning has a significant predictive effect on learnin g motivation and learning investment in the academic field.This study aims to expand the research field of life meaning,explore the correlation between high school students’ life meaning,learning motivation,and learning investment,and design a group counseling program for high school students’ learning motivation based on previous research on developing learning motivation.To address the above issues,this study conducted two substudies.In Study 1,761 high school students from multiple schools in Guilin City were selected as subjects,and the Meaning in Life Questionnaire(MLQ),the Learning Motivation Scale,and the Learning Investment Scale were used to conduct a questionnaire survey to understand high school students’ levels of life meaning,learning motivation,and learning investment,and explore the relationship between the three.In Study 2,based on the survey in Study 1 and the principle of autonomy,36 students with learning motivation below the mean were selected as research subjects,and they were randomly divided into an intervention group(18 students)and a control group(18 students).The intervention group received eight group interventions on the theme of psychological capital after signing aninformed consent form,and the control group did not receive any intervention.After the group intervention ended,a posttest was conducted on both the intervention group and the control group to test the intervention results.The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)There is a positive correlation between high school students’ life meaning and learning motivation.That is,the higher the level of life meaning among high school students,the stronger their learning motivation.(2)There is a positive correlation between high school students’ learning motivation and learning investment.That is,the stronger the learning motivation of high school students,the higher their level of learning investment.(3)There is a positive correlation between high school students’ life meaning and learning investment.That is,the higher the level of life meaning among high school students,the higher their level of learning investment.(4)Learning motivation plays an intermediary role in the relationship between life meaning and learning investment.(5)This group counseling intervention program can effectively improve the learning motivation and learning investment level of high school students and has a good effect.
