In recent years,China’s floating population has been expanding, reaching 376 million in 2020.The trend of population migration from rural to urban, from the central and western regions to the eastern regions continues to grow,at the same time, the proportion of population migration to the family continues to increase, which is particularly prominent in the new generation of population migration and mobility groups. With the development of modernization and the needs of urbanization, more and more floating population brings their families to the city. They yearn for the life of the city and their long-term residence intention is strong, but affected by the objective system, the migration of floating population in our country is not smooth sailing. On the one hand, the floating population flows to developed areas with developed economy, more job opportunities and better public services.Through the flow, the efficiency of human capital is improved and higher income is obtained. On the other hand, due to the economic discrimination, social discrimination, household registration discrimination and other unequal treatment of migrants in cities, the migration cost of migrants increases, especially for the family-based migration of migrants, children’s schooling, elderly care, housing, social security and other policies are more complex and differentiated. The floating population needs to balance the flow income and flow cost to make migration flow decision. From the current trend of our large scale population flow and family migration increase,in recent years all over the country began to adopt related policies to attract talent and population one after another, improve the acceptance of foreign population degree. In the context of competition for talents and population in different regions, which factors are attractive to migrants in cities, especially to family-oriented migrants with strong long-term residence intention, have become important factors affecting the absorption of population and talents. Therefore,in order to better study the problem of floating population,it is particularly important to study the factors that influence the absorption of migrant population from the perspective of urban inflow. In this study, the dynamic monitoring data of the floating population in 2018 and the Statistical Yearbook of Chinese Cities in 2018 were used as the theoretical basis, and push-pull theory, selectivity theory, new family migration theory and social grid theory were used as the theoretical basis.STATA software used the basic situation of the floating population in 2018 and the factors of social and economic development in the cities to carry out a binary Logistic regression analysis of the family-oriented migration of the floating population, and then carried out the robustness test and heterogeneity analysis of the regression results. In order to further study the importance of urban economic and social development on family-oriented migration of floating population, random forest test was continued.Firstly, the basic characteristics of the floating population are analyzed statistically from four aspects: the current situation of family-oriented migration, the individual characteristics of the floating population, the economic characteristics and the floating characteristics, and then the factors affecting family-oriented migration are analyzed statistically.Secondly, binary Logistic regression analysis was used to study the impact of social and economic development on the family-oriented migration of floating population. And then the robustness test was done in two ways three ways.Thirdly, random forest algorithm is used to rank the importance of factors flowing into urban economic and social development. Finally, the group regression of different genders, different ages, different levels of education, different household registration properties, different urban categories and different urban areas is conducted to study the impact of social and economic development factors flowing into cities on the heterogeneity of family-oriented migration of floating population with different characteristics. The research results are as follows: the economic and social development of urban migration has a significant impact on the family-oriented migration of floating population. The per capita GDP,the average housing price, the average wage of working staff, the average number of teachers per student in primary school education and the per capita number of doctors all have a significant positive effect on the family migration of floating population. The size of the city, the number of teachers per student in secondary education, the number of hospital beds per capita, the number of buses per capita and the air quality all have a significant negative impact on the family-oriented migration of floating population.Compared with men,the female floating population chose family-oriented migration to pay more attention to the average salary of working workers and the number of hospital beds per capita.Compared with the old generation, the new generation of floating population pays more attention to the public service level such as the number of teachers per student in secondary education and the number of hospital beds per student.Compared with other education levels, the floating population with secondary education pay more attention to GDP per capita, teachers per student in primary education, teachers per student in secondary education, hospital beds per capita and doctors per capita when choosing family migration. The floating population with non-agricultural household registration is more concerned about the average housing price than the floating population with agricultural household registration. There are significant differences in urban size, per capita GDP,average housing price, average wage of working staff and air quality. The family-oriented migration of floating population is more affected by economic factors than social factors.Based on the above findings, appropriate countermeasures are proposed.
