| The "5E" teaching style is a "inquiry-based" method of instruction that is "student-centered," and its educational philosophy is consistent with the notions of "literacy-based" and "moral education" promoted by the recent curriculum reform.A student-centered,inquiry-based approach to teaching and learning is the 5E teaching paradigm. The development of students’ essential chemistry abilities in the classroom is a hot topic in chemistry education research and a crucial issue that has to be addressed in chemistry education practice since chemistry is a required subject in senior secondary school. The 5E teaching approach emphasizes the autonomous creation of a knowledge system in an inquiry-based educational environment while boosting the capacity to solve chemical issues. It helps explain the development and enhancement process of essential skills in chemistry in a step-by-step way.In order to provide fresh ideas for the development of chemistry topic core skills for high school students, this study uses the 5E teaching approach to the subject. The primary goals of this thesis are to first categorize the present state of domestic and international research on the 5E teaching model and its essential chemical competences,as well as to describe the context, objective, substance, and research methodologies of that study. Then, using the theoretical underpinnings,we define and comprehend the key ideas and principles of characteristics and feasibility of both, construct the teaching design process and the teaching framework of each link based on the 5E teaching model of key competencies in chemistry, present a more developed teaching design based on the 5E teaching model, and lay the groundwork for the ensuing practical research. Finally,in order to assess the present state of the main chemical competences among senior secondary school students and to analyze the issues,a questionnaire survey was carried out.Fourthly,to conduct teaching practice, the 5E teaching model was used to classroom instruction, and experimental and control classes with comparable circumstances were chosen. The specific effects of the 5E teaching model on the growth and improvement of students’ key competencies in chemistry from the three dimensions of learning and understanding, application and practice, and transfer and innovation,as well as the secondary elements, were verified using the quasi-experimental method. The exam questions were meant to assess students’ performance and essential chemical abilities. Also, student interviews were done to understand how the 5E teaching approach was used to create core chemical abilities and to assess if it improved student learning and the relevance of the study.Fifthly, based on the teaching practice research, teaching techniques for building students’ core chemical competencies from the introduction, investigation, explanation, refinement, and assessment sessions were suggested. With a 7.9% rise in the mean score level, the experimental class’ s overall ability scores on the final exam improved as compared to the stage test. All evidence points to the 5E teaching model’s effectiveness in enhancing core chemistry abilities. |
