With the vigorous development of China’s education and the in-depth promotion of basic education and teaching reform,teachers’ development has attracted more and more attention,especially rural primary school teachers.With the introduction of various government documents on supporting rural teachers,rural teachers have ushered in a great opportunity for development.In 2015,the general office of the State Council issued the support plan for rural teachers(2015-2020)(GBF [2015] No.43),which pointed out the shortcomings of the current construction of rural teachers,mainly focusing on Teachers’ ethics,salary and training,which greatly promoted rural education.In the process of urbanization,although the material conditions have gradually improved,the professional level of teachers lags behind the requirements of urbanization,the gap between urban and rural areas is still obvious,the quality of basic education in township areas is difficult to keep up with the requirements of relevant departments,the social status of teachers is getting higher and higher,but the gap between urban and rural areas has obviously had a great impact on teachers,and rural teachers are still a vulnerable group,Especially rural physical education teachers.Rural primary school physical education teachers have certain particularity.Only by meeting the reasonable needs of rural primary school physical education teachers can we effectively promote teacher development.The professional level of most rural teachers in Jiangsu is uneven.Some researchers have invested considerable energy and played a certain role in promoting rural education,but the research and Analysis on the development needs of rural teachers is not deep enough.Through questionnaire and interview,this paper deeply understands the current situation and development needs of physical education teachers in rural primary schools in Lianyungang.After analyzing the data,it is found that the overall age structure of physical education teachers in rural primary schools in Lianyungang is too large,and the teachers need to inject fresh blood;Physical education teachers of different ages have different needs for teachers’ morality,professional style,professional knowledge and professional ability;Lianyungang Rural Primary School physical education teachers have high policy requirements for teacher training,caring for students,adhering to integrity and self-discipline,standardizing teaching behavior,basic treatment guarantee and post allowance,which reflects the high expectation of rural physical education teachers to improve the quality of teachers and the overall teaching level,as well as the strong desire to improve the welfare treatment of rural teachers;Lianyungang Rural Primary School physical education teachers have a high demand for material incentives.
