High-quality teachers play an important fundamental role in the realization of whole-person education and the cultivation of high-quality talents in good health for the country.The university physical education teacher is an important part of building high quality teachers in our country.Retired athletes transition college physical education teachers is a special group of college physical education teachers.The pros and disadvantages of the group’s career development is of great significance for settling retired athletes for re-employment,unimpeded the channels for retired athletes to transform into physical education teachers in colleges and universities and improving the quality of physical education in colleges and universities.Although there are favorable conditions such as policy support,professional advantages and practical demands in the process of career development,the retired athletes in Sichuan Province who are transformed into physical education teachers in colleges and universities also face practical problems such as low comprehensive factors and insufficient support of development resources and institutions in colleges and universities.Based on this,this study adopts the methods of questionnaire survey,interview and mathematical statistics to analyze the advantages and problems existing in the career development of college physical education teachers transformed by retired athletes in Sichuan Province,and finally puts forward targeted career development strategies.The conclusion is as follows:1.The sports skill capital,social capital and cultural capital accumulated by the group during the athlete stage can effectively promote their career development.Among them,1)Long time engaged in sports training,the degree of superiority of the project and the level of sports skill are the important sports skill capital of this group;2)The ability to handle training and learning well,and the ability to communicate with coaches and teammates are important social capital for this group;3)Special technical and tactical theoretical knowledge,special development characteristics and special judgment knowledge are important cultural capital of this group.2.The retired athletes in Sichuan Province are faced with the following problems in the professional development of physical education teachers in colleges and universities: 1)Due to the lack of comprehensive literacy,the career development process is slow;2)Limited career development due to low social integration;3)The lack of internal development planning of the representative team limits the advantageous development of the group;4)Lack of consideration for long-term career development due to imbalance in the proportion of resource investment;5)Due to the lack of targeted career development system,the main body’s career development motivation is insufficient.3.In order to promote the career development of retired athletes in Sichuan Province who are transformed into physical education teachers in colleges and universities,the following suggestions are put forward: 1)strengthen internal construction and constantly pursue self-development;2)Coordinating efforts from external parties to accelerate the process of social integration;3)Strengthen the construction of college team platform and give full play to the professional advantages of the group;4)Establish reasonable career development resources and create a good career development environment;5)Establish a scientific career development system to effectively stimulate the motivation for career development.
