Classroom teaching is a mutual face-to-face interaction and communication between teacher and students,which is a typical education communication and a common communication mode of school education.The reading in classroom teaching is to decode abstract symbols and an in ternalization and understanding on written language.The reading capacity decides the Chinese proficiency.A high-quality middle school Chinese classroom teaching requires enough attention to reading teaching.From the angle of educational communication an d based on teaching situation of the unit titled “Outline of Great Books” in state-compiled middle school Chinese textbook,this paper carries out a research on problems in classroom teaching focusing on teacher and students,such as students have no inter ests in reading,students don’t know how to read,students have no time to read due to heavy homework,teachers don’t have a thorough understanding on connotation of curriculum standards and don’t pay enough attention to reading and teachers are limited by traditional teaching methods and don’t know how to teach reading.This paper aims to integrate teaching elements of educational communication,helping teachers know how to guide students to read and helping students master skills of reading great books.Therefore,teachers and students will cooperate to integrate communication effect and teaching effect to maximize benefits,which will be a contribution to the classroom teaching of “outline of great books” in middle school Chinese textbook.This paper conducts teaching research on the unit “outline of great books” in state-compiled middle school Chinese textbook from the theory and practice of educational communication.The first chapter explains the feasibility and innovation of researching the teaching of “outline of great books” under the angle of educational communication and the situation of researches on educational communication,teaching of outline of great books,educational communication and Chinese Teaching.The second chapter specifies elements,characteristics,connection and significance of the education communication and the unit “outline of great books”.The third chapter is a discussion about problems in the teaching of “outline of great books” from data of questionnaires and classroom observ ation and analyzes the reasons resulting in those problems from the angles of teachers and students.The fourth chapter proposes some improvement strategies for teachers teaching great books reading based on educational communication.The fifth chapter sum s up the rules of reading story,prose and poetry,which will be a guidance for students reading great books.Moreover,the fifth chapter makes a teaching design and profound consideration over The Rickshaw Boy which is one of reading works in the unit “outline of great books”in the second Chinese textbook of grade 7,based on the educational communication mode “Flipped Classroom”.
