| Illustration is one of the reading-aid systems and an important part of Chinese textbooks.It plays an irreplaceable role in teachers’ teaching and students’ learning.The illustrations in the unified edition of high school Chinese textbooks are rich in types,which are characterized by close relationship between pictures and texts,attention to traditional culture,vivid images,and rich and diverse contents.After comparing the illustrations in the unified edition of high school Chinese textbooks with the illustrations in the People’s Education Edition of high school Chinese textbooks,it is found that the illustrations in the unified edition of high school Chinese textbooks have decreased in quantity,but the overall quality of illustrations has improved,providing conditions for teachers and students to use the illustrations in the textbooks.The illustrations in the unified edition of senior high school Chinese textbooks are of great significance for improving students’ core literacy in Chinese.The illustrations in Chinese textbooks are conducive to cultivating students’ language construction and application ability,beneficial to promoting the development and enhancement of students’ thinking,cultivating students’ aesthetic appreciation and creativity,and promoting students’ inheritance and understanding of culture.Taking W Middle School as an example,the author investigated the current situation of teachers and students’ use of illustrations in the unified edition of high school Chinese textbooks,and found that teachers lack the awareness of using illustrations in teaching,use illustrations in a single way,and do not interpret illustrations in depth.The impact of modern teaching methods,the impact of traditional teaching concepts and the lack of awareness of interpreting illustrations are the reasons for this phenomenon.Similarly,students lack the awareness of interpreting illustrations,lack of scientific reading methods,and lack of communication and discussion about illustrations in their study.The main reasons for these problems are that students do not pay enough attention to illustrations,teachers do not give enough guidance to students,and students do not cultivate the habit of independent learning.In response to the above issues,strategies have been proposed for teachers and students to apply textbook illustrations.For teachers,firstly,it is necessary to enhance their awareness of the application of illustrations,including the awareness of drawing preparation,using,and thinking.Secondly,it is necessary to innovate the methods of applying illustrations,such as "skillfully using illustrations to introduce new courses","using illustrations to break through key points","closely adhering to illustrations,summarizing and sublimating",etc.Thirdly,we need to establish new teaching concepts.We need to change our teaching philosophy,use illustrations to improve students’ literacy,and also establish the concept of lifelong learning to improve our professional literacy.Fourthly,it is necessary to guide students in mastering the methods of map recognition.For students,firstly,it is necessary to enhance their awareness of applying illustrations.Preview illustrations before class,apply illustrations during class,integrate illustrations after class,and expand activities.Secondly,it is necessary to enhance the subject consciousness and actively study illustrations.Finally,the textbook illustrations were applied to Chinese language teaching practice,and teaching examples were designed to provide reference for teachers’ teaching and students’ learning. |
